STUDENT PREPARATION

In the Classroom
Rules in the Classroom
Speak English in class. If you speak your language too much, the teacher might ask you to leave.

Arrive on time for lessons

Get out your pen and notebook at the start of every lesson. If you want to take off your coat,
please do it before the lesson starts

Please be quiet when the teacher asks you. When the teacher wants to speak to all the class, he/
she will give you a sign to be quiet and listen

Participate in all the class activities – not “your” activities

With your class mates:

▪ Do not argue or shout

▪ Do not fool around
▪ Do not pull, push or punch even if it is “friendly”
(Show the teacher that people from your country are polite)

Your leaders will ask your English teachers about you after the lessons. “Is Joe working well?” Your
leaders will talk to you if you are not good in class

If you do not understand, always tell your English teacher

Do not drink or eat in lessons – this is strange for English people

No chewing gum. But you can drink water

Turn your mobile phone off and put your “toys” away

Do not do anything to stop other students from learning. Your teacher will not like that

Speak English and encourage your classmates to speak English too!
