Introduction
In the current macroeconomic climate, inflation has hit its highest levels since the 1970s which,
as a result, has also meant that salaries in the industry have risen. As an industry leader in the
recruitment of engineers on yachts, we feel well placed to provide an accurate snapshot on the
current working conditions. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to this survey.

We have noticed that on 90m+ yachts, non rotational positions have been largely phased out
among all positions in the department. It is also increasingly rare for Chief Engineers and 2nd
Engineers on 60-90m yachts with only around 5% and 10% respectively not on rotation. While
in the past ETOs have been known to take full time positions, they are now almost exclusively in
rotational roles. Among senior crew, Business class flights are proving a popular perk as well as
having a single cabin.

Limitations: All surveys require accurate and honest answers and while we feel the results are
accurate based on our experience, we can’t guarantee this to be the case.
