OPENING SPEECH

Honorable officers, distinguished delegates, observers and others present in the room, good
morning. The delegation of Chile welcomes you.

My country, as part of the UN (United Nations), has a population of about 19,493,184 people
with an area of 756,626 km². its main language is Spanish, the main currency is the Chilean
peso, bordered to the north by Peru, to the east by Bolivia and Argentina, to the south by the
South Pole (Chilean Antarctic Territory) and to the west by the Pacific Ocean.in the capital,
Santiago de Chile, is the seat of executive power which is headed by the President of the
Republic. The President is elected by popular and direct suffrage by all eligible Chilean
citizens. His term of office is 4 years, without the right to immediate reelection. With the
power of a monarch but limited by law and guided by the fundamental rights of citizens.

In Chile there is evidence about the different attempts to disarm bombs or the illegal carrying
of traumatic weapons or blanks, the union of Chile with the United Nations is to help control
and put an end to all issues on disarmament with the United Nations Chile has signed several
treaties dealing with disarmament throughout the country seeking to ensure the security of the
country as well as the safety of its own population without risk of any death because of this.

On the other hand, the DISEC commission (United Nations Disarmament Commission). The
Disarmament and International Security Commission's main objective is to maintain and
guarantee peace and security among nations. The committee intends to create possible
solutions with the issues raised and some functions it has with the regulation of armament,
disarmament and the good management of armament. It handles issues based on the
limitation of armament and invites all nations to create with ingenuity, a comprehensive way
to propose possible solutions from negotiations and debates as well as seeks to regulate
weapons seeking maximum disarmament to ensure international security. Being its central
theme as mentioned above to achieve complete disarmament in all nations that comprise it,
by saying a disarmament can refer more to the disarmament of nuclear weapons, the
destruction of mass weapons, conventional weapons, cybersecurity and regional
disarmament.

To solve or propose a way to control this, Chile has proposed strengthening existing treaties
by advocating the strengthening of international disarmament treaties such as the Nuclear
Non-Proliferation Treaty (TNP) and the Chemical Weapons Convention (CAQ), urging all
states to comply fully with their obligations under these treaties, promoting nuclear
disarmament by advocating the elimination of nuclear weapons, and supporting initiatives
such as the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPAN), conventional arms
control by advocating for greater control and regulation of conventional arms including the
signing and ratification of treaties such as the Arms Trade Treaty (TCA) and the Anti-
Personnel Mine Ban Treaty (TPMA), transparency and confidence building by stressing the
importance of transparency and mutual trust among states in the field of disarmament. It has
advocated the promotion of confidence-building measures, information exchange and
verification as mechanisms to advance disarmament and arms reduction, and finally regional
disarmament by supporting regional disarmament efforts, particularly in Latin America and
the Caribbean. It has supported the establishment of nuclear-weapon-free zones and has
advocated the strengthening of regional dialogue and cooperation mechanisms to address
security challenges.
