“CREATIVE WARFARE”

First of all, I would like to take the first part of my essay to admire the symbolistic
approach of Dr. Bernard Karganilla in indoctrinating us, cadets with all the pieces of
knowledge. We appreciate this type of approach because we are able to view things from
a different perspective. Although sometimes we are having a hard time comprehending
some of his points, through group discussions with our fellow cadets, we are able to
unravel his idea.
Just like any other article that was given to us, this article about the four Filipino
dishes is meaningful in every way. The first two dishes, the adobo, and the sinigang talk
about the war using pitchforks and muskets during World War I which was declared by
the dictator Adolf Hitler. The next dish, the sisig talks about the perspective of religion,
particularly the Christian catholic church in such wars. This includes the immorality and
evil acts of the enemy that was considered by the Christian catholic church which in return
gave them enough reason to support the use of force and violence in attaining peace.
While over the third plate, the plate of Lechon talks about the use of modern technology
in fighting these wars. This concept of modern warfare does not need human lives to be
spent in agony in fighting this war.
Generally, this article by Dr. Bernard Karganilla from my point of view is all about
the different eras of warfare that were utilized. It also talks about different ideologies that
were fought by different groups of people. This article also highlights the different tactics
used in fighting wars. Now, the question that was posed by this article is this. What stops
our country from using different tactics in combat? If we have originality and creativity with
our dishes, why are we not able to do the same when it comes to battle? All we do is
imitate what other country is doing. Doing things differently does not mean abnormality.
Sometimes, doing things the common way leads us to the same old result, and honestly,
some of which are ineffective in addressing such issues.
These wars can be dealt with in many ways not yet imagined by people. It can be
engaged diplomatically, or on the opposite, it can be dealt with through bloodshed. Just
like our unique and delicious original Filipino dishes, we can also be creative in addressing
the issues of terrorism. Currently, our government is having its unique strategy for fighting
local insurgencies and terrorism. Executive Order No. 70, institutionalizes of the whole-
of-nation approach in attaining inclusive and sustainable peace, creating a national task
force to end local communist armed conflict, and directing the adoption of a national
peace framework.
It is a unique strategy that was formulated by the collaboration of the appropriate
departments, and agencies in the government and likewise with the private sector. This
is a whole new approach that the government is currently using in addressing the issues
of terrorism. This approach addresses the root causes of the insurgencies and other
threats by prioritizing the delivery of the basic services of the government. It also ensures
the active participation of all sectors of society in this agenda in attaining peace. It is a
process of attaining peace by a peaceful means.
