Dear Ma’am:

Greetings!

The Philippine Public Safety Academy (PPSA) is a newly established service academy
for the education and training of Fire and Jail Cadets under DILG Circular No. 2022-009,
under Republic Act No. 11279. It facilitates and accelerates the smooth and harmonized
transfer of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) to the Philippine National
Police (PNP) and the establishment of a separate academy for the Bureau of Fire
Protection (BFP) and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP). By 2024, the
first class of PPSA graduates will be ranked among the BFP and BJMP commissioned
officers as Fire and Jail Inspectors.

In compliance with the cadets’ requirements on the subject FJP-102, Philippine History
with Dr. Bernard L. Karganilla, a notable professor from the Graduate School of the
University of the Philippines, they are directed to gather information and opinion from their
respective local chief executives and/or local legislators regarding a certain topic.
Attached herewith is the letter from one of our cadets who is a resident in your district.
