3. FOLLOW-UP NEEDED:
Genrator-2 Black-Out: Going through the Alarm/Fault print-out as well as the power-trend charts, it seems
that there had been a problem with the engine. (Instantaneous fuel-rate and speed
dropped and a “Low Frequency” Alarm was generated) See attachment.
Marginal Reactive-Power (kVAr) Load-sharing: It was impossible for the crew to properly balance the AVR’s
between all 5 generators because the Droop-CT at Generator - 1 was erroneously
installed in phase-1 instead in phase-2. (Generator was previously re-built)
Note: Because only 500 kW of power was available at dock-side, the fine-adjustment of
the AVR’s may need to be repeated during cruise at a higher power-setting.
Crew received instructions as how to adjust the no-load voltage and the droop-setting.
Remarks: Several discrepancies between switchboard-meters and transducer read-outs at the computer-
consol had been noted. A meter/transducer calibration is recommended.
