I have had countless life-changing experiences throughout my life.

When I was a child, they were

my first steps, the first time I could speak and read. When I was a little older, they were my poor
grades as well as my teachers' encouragement which heartened and motivated me to enhance
better and better. And now, as a 10th grader at Tuyen Quang High School for the Gifted, one of the
most memorable experiences is definitely the English project - Mismanaged Waste in Tuyen
Quang that I did last week.

Well, first and foremost, what makes me unforgettable is the “first time”. As we all know, “First
time” is something that makes us slightly smile and feel nostalgia every time we recall it, and of
course, I am no exception. For the first time, I got to work with such energetic, vivacious and cute,
beautiful, and handsome classmates. The first time I went to different places with the aim of
looking for some garbage trolleys or landfills. The first time I actually made some recycled
products. They all add to my youth story a new piece of memory and will surely stay forever in my
mind. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the issues we have to deal with. We are paintings made
by myriads of small and big pieces, light and dark colors. Hence, I appreciate all difficulties and
troubles I met, because they are part of me, and indeed make up the “me” I am now. Being
refused when asking for an interview teaches me how should I approach interviewees. Putting up
with the foul stench of garbage helps me to sympathize with households residing in areas near
landfills. Furthermore, how our group overcame these hurdles is also interesting. Mornings when
we enthusiastically discussed which game to choose, afternoons when we together make a
beautiful and gorgeous bouquet of plastic flowers, and evenings when we gathered to edit Canva
did in fact leave an indelible impression on me.

Besides a plethora of things l like about our project that I can’t list all, there are a few things that I
am not satisfied with. The first is our presentation. In spite of the fact that we should do this part
well because it is the soul of our project, we did the opposite. It’s a pity that we don’t have more
time. Mid-term tests, refusal of interviews as well as inexperience in carrying out a 45-minute
project give us little time to completely absorb the knowledge and convey them clearly and
frequently to our classmates and Mr.Trung. The second is me. I literally was too trembling and
shaky when I presented solutions to the problem, which caused me to forget what to say next and
slutter.

To improve the quality of the next project, I have some recommendations. Firstly, I think Mr.
Trung should give points to the group that presented earlier or arrange 4 groups to present in 2
hours in the afternoon. As such, there will be more equality for all groups. Second, I suggest
encouraging students to choose other, smaller topics instead of popular ones. This is because
cheating on tests, for example, may appeal to us more than global warming, which is talked about
every day. I'm sick of hearing it but what I can do is just like a drop in the bucket because of the
fact that this dilemma needs all the inhabitants of this planet to join hands. But student cheating is
easier to deal with, and this issue is also more relevant to our daily lives.
