Final Project – Peer Evaluation Form

Class : Group :
Case :
Evaluating a peer is difficult to do, whether it’s in a class or on the job. However, for a group project
like this one, everyone needs to contribute. A student who has contributed significantly should be
recognized with an assessment that reflects that contribution. Likewise, a student who did not meet
expectations should not benefit from the work of others. In the space below, provide an evaluation
of each member of your team. Use the evaluation criteria below to assign a numeric evaluation.
For each member of your group, evaluate the quality of his/her contribution throughout Final
Project. Consider the individual’s contribution in terms of the scale below. Note that Self
evaluations do not contribute to your AVERAGE PEER SCORE. (If necessary, you may make specific
comments below to support your peer evaluation.) GIVE each member a SPECIFIC numeric score
(e.g., “8”), NOT a range (e.g., “7-8”). All Peer Evaluations will remain strictly confidential; I alone will
see your scores.

*** SELF *** :

Students earning an average peer score of 9-10 will be eligible to earn 100% of the PROJECT grade;
students receiving an average of 7-8 will have 10 points deducted from their project grade; 5-6 will
have 20 points deducted; and 0-4 will have 30 points deducted from their PROJECT grades.
9-10 This individual has consistently contributed; s/he has demonstrated an understanding of the material, a
willingness to work consistently to achieve a high-quality product, to help others, and to be flexible in scheduling.
Essentially, this person has done more than his/her fair share and has shown initiative and interest throughout
the semester.
7-8 This individual has contributed in an average way; performance was generally good but perhaps was
inconsistent. This individual did the tasks that were assigned to them, but rarely took the initiative. Inconsistent
attendance at meeting or lack of preparation at times that slowed the group progress or other similar tendencies
at times diminished a generally solid contribution. This individual usually contributed their fair share.
5-6 This individual performed well below reasonable expectations; whether it was quality of work, attendance at
meetings, preparation, interest in the project, initiative, understanding of the material, or meeting deadlines, this
individual performed at a level below what one would expect. Essentially, the group would have been better off
without the contributions of this person.
0-4 This individual made insignificant contributions, if any, to the project and was essentially dead weight; there was
minimal effort to get involved and basically depended on others to do the work. This person barely deserves
having their name on the project, though s/he may have contributed at some point during the semester.
