Heat Powered Turbine

The objective of the heat-powered turbine project was to explore the conversion of heat energy
into mechanical energy. The project began by collecting all the necessary materials, including a
candle, lighter, needle, and foil. These materials were easily accessible and allowed for a simple yet
effective demonstration. Next, the foil was carefully cut into the shape of an “elesi,” resembling a
propeller, to maximize the turbine’s efficiency. The foil was then securely attached to a pencil using a
needle, providing a stable base for the turbine.

With the setup complete, the candle was lit, providing a source of heat for the turbine. As the
candle flame heated the surrounding air, the foil began to spin. This captivating motion showcased
the successful conversion of heat energy into mechanical energy. The spinning of the foil
demonstrated the power of heat and its ability to generate movement. The project not only provided
a hands-on experience but also deepened understanding of energy conversion principles. Overall,
the heat-powered turbine project served as an engaging and educational exploration of harnessing
heat to produce mechanical energy.
