Ha Long Bay was recognized by UNESCO in 1994 and 2000 as a World Natural Heritage.

Ha Long Bay is a small bay on the west coast of the Gulf of Tonkin in the Northeast sea area of
Vietnam, including the island area of Ha Long city in Quang Ninh province.

-Ha Long Bay is a place associated with the history of the Vietnamese army and people during the
period of solidifying and defending the country with places such as Van Don, an ancient coastal place
in Northern Vietnam in the 12th century. The book Dai Viet Complete History tells about the
formation of Van Don trade: “Ky Ty, (Dai Dinh) was recognized by UNESCO in its 10th year and is one
of the famous tourist destinations in Vietnam.

-Ha Long Bay has environmental, biodiversity and cultural value. The importance of preserving Ha
Long Bay can be seen through the following points:
