What are homonyms?

Homonyms come from the prefix ‘homo-” which means the same, and “-

Read the following sentences below:

Notice the two words written in bold letters. How do the words flower and

Flower and flour have the same sound while they differ in spelling and of

in meaning. Flower means the seed-bearing part of a plant. Flour is a powder
obtained by grinding grain, typically wheat and used to make bread, cakes,

pastry.
