LEARNING STANDARD : Main: 2.3.1 Narrate short basic stories, events and
experiences.
Complementary: 4.2.3 Narrate factual and imagined events
and experiences.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES : By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to;
i) explain the process on making the healthy fruit juice with
correct steps and sequence using sentence connectors.
ii) write a clear flow chart of the process of making the
healthy fruit juice using grammatically correct sentences.
iii) promoting their product using wide variety of language
creatively.
Pupils can:
1. communicate simple information about themselves and
others with a lot of relevant details clearly and
confidently.
2. communicate basic future plans, events and
experiences using suitable statements with a variety of
relevant details.

ELEMENTS
ACTIVITIES i. Pre-Lesson : 1. Introduce any new food vocabulary from the recipes for
this lesson using a spelling activity from the list of pre-
lesson tasks in Section 3.
ii. Lesson : 1. Hand out the definitions worksheet. Pupils read the
Development definitions and write the words. Pupils check in pairs
before checking as a whole class. Remind pupils that
they need to spell the answers correctly. (HOTS)
2. Show pupils the recipe on the second worksheet. Elicit
the word ‘recipe’. Ask pupils if they enjoy cooking and
whether they follow recipes to make food at home.
3. Have pupils read the two versions of the recipe and
decide which one is correct. Pupils tell their partner why
they think this. (CBA)
4. Pupils re-read the correct recipe and underline the
passive forms. Check answers in pairs before whole
class. (21st CA)
5. Have pupils read the correct recipe again and mime it in
pairs.
6. Tell pupils where you found the recipe (e.g. on the
internet).Talk to pupils about internet safety and how to
identify real from fake information online (CCE: ICT;
Values).
