With relevant examples show how the emergence of covid19 pandemic has
redefined and revolutionized functions in many of the universities in Kenya.

Being an external factor ,COVID-19 brought challenges in learning due to fear and
insecurity .where students could not attend classes physically or conduct a group
discussion .But with that there was a great leap on digital transformation where
student could learn from the comfort of their homes through E-learning platforms.
Thus through the pandemic, all learning institutions had to adapt to the new normal
and embrace digital learning which is without a doubt the future of education. Hence
that came as a life changing advantage .

Many universities in the country were caught unaware as the pandemic spread so
rapidly. This is to say that universities did not have time to prepare for the risk so
when the pandemic came they were at a great disadvantage. As a result all institutions
had to close their operations. Nevertheless however, universities in Kenya learned to
always prepare for any future challenges in advance. They now invest on risk
management which is an advantage to their main goals.

As the pandemic raged, universities incurred colossal amounts of funds trying to

construct new halls to ensure social distancing-in accordance with the covid19
protocals among students. This was a great advantage as the space and the university
capacity increased hence they could now hold more students comfortably. Thus,
academically talented individuals have their academic journey secured and promised
to them in these institutions of higher learning.

Last but not least, the pandemic led to a great rise in mental instability among the
human race across all universities not only in Kenya but global-wise. The fear of
contracting the virus and even fear of death led to depression and anxiety. In that
aspect the government ,had to campaign for the importance of bodies in charge of
mental health in all universities.
As a result, universities in Kenya can now assist their students to focus on their
education once their individual mental challenges are solved through conselling.

Regardless of all the challenges brought about by covid19 pandemic there were
opportunities that navigated and refined the rise of universities academically , in terms
of infrastructure and even the mental stability of both students and lecturers was
manifested and stabilized.
