Technology has brought innovative and resilient solutions in times of crisis

(especially during the Covid-19 pandemic) to combat disruption and helps people to

communicate and even work virtually without the need for face-to-face interaction. This

leads to many system and strategy changes in organizations as they adopt the new

technology for interacting and working. However, there are technological challenges like

internet connectivity, especially in some places in our province (Aurora), where there are

still without signals can be the greatest obstacle in teaching and learning continuity

especially for academic institutions that have opted for online learning as a teaching

modality. Thus, the alternative models of learning during the pandemic are supported by

the government and stakeholders which are well-designed technical and logistical

implementation plan.
During the hard lockdown, the nationwide closure of educational institutions in an

attempt to contain the spread of the virus has impacted 90% of the world’s student

population. I experienced challenges in teaching and learning continuity amidst the

pandemic. The need to mitigate the immediate impact of school closures on the continuity

of learning among learners from their perspectives is an important part of considering the

decision-making of the institution. Moreover, teachers' perspectives are as important as the

learners’ since they are the ones providing and sustaining the learning process. Teachers

should effectively make action with regard to these current challenges to facilitate learning

among learners, learner differentiation, and learner-centeredness and be ready to assume

the role of facilitators on remote learning platforms.

During the discussion, my classmates talk about the global outbreak of the highly

contagious new strain of coronavirus known as COVID-19, for which there is yet no

vaccine, which continues to pose unprecedented challenges. At this point, the biggest

impact of COVID-19 arises from the need to practice stringent social or physical distancing

to prevent or mitigate its spread, especially in schools. Schools must find ways for learning

to continue amidst the threat and uncertainties brought about by COVID-19 while ensuring

the health, safety, and well-being of all learners, teachers, parents, and personnel of the
Department. In the development of this Basic Education - Learning Continuity Plan (BE-

LCP), this provides and optimistic view on how to continue education amidst uncertainty.

As an Educational Management student, it is important to become responsive to the

different challenges in education. Covid 19 might only be a teaser of the future problems in

Philippine Education, but as long we have competent and skilled educational planners, we

can able to come up with proper solutions just like our Education department did.
