Exploring the School Campus

1. How do the school campus and the classroom in particular impact the
learningof the students going to school? What are your conclusions?

School campus and the classroom play a vital role in students learning. Every
student’s second home must be comfortable for everyone to study and conducive to
learning. The school’s facility’s structural such as inadequate lighting, poor air
quality, noise, and deficient heating, may affect their achievement and concentration
in class. Therefore, the environment must be considered and built knowing that
students will be comfortable upon having their sessions or classes. It shall have
complete facilities for them to practice their skills and of course conducive for
learning so that students are motivated to go to school. They are inspired to learn new
things, willing to discover new learnings and will be able to focus on their field.

2. What kind of school campus is conducive to learning?

A school campus conducive to learning is free from noise to avoid distractions. It


should have complete facilities such as a science laboratory, computer laboratory,
comfort rooms, clinic, school grounds, canteen, library and other facilities that could
help students learning. It must also be free from pollution, clean, and have well-
organized amenities. Most of all, a safe environment that provides strong security
ensures the welfare of each learner.

3. What kind of classroom is conducive to learning?

A classroom can be considered conducive to learning if it is clean, well-


organized, and not crowded, so the focus and concentration are just there. It shall be
well-lighted and well-ventilated. Resources shall be available for the class
discussions/lessons. Furthermore, it shall allow for a comfortable space to learn
effectively.

4. In the future, how can you accomplish your answer in number 3?

To accomplish a classroom that is conducive to learning, I shall make sure that:

• My classroom is clean and organized by having my students take part in


cleaning the classroom. In this way, I will also be able to help them be
aware of their duties and responsibilities and help them develop discipline
and cooperation with their classmates.

• Every resource that is needed for my discussions and my students learning


shall at least be provided to us.

• I radiate positive energy in the class by embracing diversity, knowing


their weaknesses and strengths and being attentive and sensible about
what is going on with my class.

• I will never invalidate their feelings and opinions; all will be heard and be
given enough attention and the same treatment.

• I will impose values such as teamwork, respect, discipline, integrity, and


humanity.

• Lastly, to be an effective and efficient teacher who goes beyond what is


expected of us as models and teachers. To be someone that students are
comfortable talking with when having problems that they cannot
understand or needs motherly advice.

What are the displays all about? What key messages do they convey? How are thepieces of
information and images arranged?

The displays are all about important information that teachers, students, and even visitors
should see and know. I have attached only two photos, yet there are still more in the board of
information that I have captured. The vision, Mission, and Goals of the school were also posted in
theirs. The school board of information wanted to convey that its place is one of the most important
places on the campus because it contains not only the important information to be disseminated but
the significant people and happenings in the school. It was not that grand. It was a simple board with
minimal designs and decorations, and some memorandums and letters were attached in a messy state.
However, it needed to be organized according to its category. Everyone can see everything. The
pieces of information were arranged to have the longest posted at the back and the most recent in
front.

The skills mentioned above are what a teacher should possess to develop an effective board
display. Teachers must be creative; they should know the trend or what to do to captivate the eyes and
minds of every passing student, parent, teacher, and faculty. Touching the heart of everyone is a great
indicator that the display board is effective. Next, they should know how to organize thoughts, ideas,
and things to be put on the board so they will be clear and neat. Visual skills are also important, along
with creativity, because this will be one of the parent’s determinants of the school if it is doing well
and competent. Teachers must also be resourceful, which means creating useful and unique solutions
in challenging situations. They must be quick to find another way when plan A does not work.
Moreover lastly, having good grammar skills because the display board is the first thing we see and
look for on campus; as an institution that educates students on values and professional competencies,
we, teachers, must also be effective and competent in most ways.

2) Which of the skills you named in #1 do you already have? And which
skills do you need to develop? What concrete steps will you take on
how you can improve on or acquire these skills.

As an aspiring teacher, I must also acquire the skills to present an


effective display board. Mentioned in my answers in number one are the five
skills needed to have, but what I consider that I already have is being
resourceful. I usually avoid panic when things do not go as planned or if
something unprecedented happens and we cannot carry on with the plans. I stay
quiet, stay calm and think of a solution instead. Panicking does not help make
things easier; it just adds.

Up to the pressure and stress of the idea that your plan did not work out.
Moreover, for how many years of handling an organization, I always looked for
ways, asked for suggestions or prepared plans B, C, and so on to keep everyone
in a good state of mind. Having this as my strength, I also admit that being
creative is what I need to improve more. It is a really important skill in teaching,
yet my creativity sucks. However, I am working on acquiring this skill by:

• Knowing what the trend is.


• Surfing the internet of things, I needed to do.
• Finding the motivation to think clearly and produce creative thoughts and
designs.
• Applying everything that I have learned.
