The world's most important resources are the people and the natural environment which we rely
on for our existence. PetroChina (Halfaya) is committed to safeguarding the health and safety of
the people, and protecting the environment from its business activities of Halfaya oil & gas field
development & operations. As part of this commitment, the Management will:
 Give priority to the objectives of preventing incidents, injuries, work related ill health and
pollution by minimizing the HSE risks.
 Allocate adequate resources to meet HSE requirements.
 Provide necessary HSE trainings.
 Establish and maintain a proactive HSE culture through visible management leadership,
and employee's consultation & engagement.
 Comply with the requirements of Iraqi Laws and applicable regulations.
 Implement continual review and improvement of HSE management.
Implementation principles:
 Establish appropriate HSE objectives and targets in line with Oil & Gas industrial best
practices.
 Every line manager shall be responsible and accountable to HSE matters of his/her
respective department or unit business activities.
 Management of resources, emissions, discharges and wastes in compliance with the
applicable legislation and HSE requirements.
 Conduct regular environmental, occupational health and safety monitoring, inspections
and audits of all projects, operations and facilities to evaluate the effectiveness of the
management system implementation.
 Use HSE performance as a key reference for selecting and incentivizing employees and
contractors.
 Maintain open communication with the local authorities & public regarding all aspects of
HSE Performances
 Communicate this policy with employees, contractors & stakeholders through various
management activities for effective implementation.

environmental commitments of PetroChina (Halfaya)
