Literature Under the Republic

Philippine literature is literature associated with the Philippines from prehistory, through its
colonial legacies, and on to the present. Pre-Hispanic Philippine literature was actually epics
passed on from generation to generation, originally through an oral tradition. Philippine
Literature gives us nostalgic feelings and enjoyment in every piece or works of our ancestors,
and an inspiration of the beautiful Filipino’s poems, stories, plays, essays, and other pieces
that they created. The literature of the Philippines is very gorgeous, that’s why we need to
study our own literature so that we can better appreciate our literary heritage.
