However, Filipinos demonstrated strength and courage, survived the influence of colonizers, and now stand proud of their culture and history. The document is the author's poem for a midterm exam in a Philippine history course, discussing what was learned about how colonizers impacted culture but Filipinos still practice traditions today.

A culture of customs, a treasure of traditions The Tagalog way of life Filled with various emotions.
The music of the culture,
the food of the soul A people with a rich history, and a story to be told
But the colonizers arrived,
they brought their culture and pride. It was a time of great change, Filipinos were thought their foreign ways.
But it was our strength and courage
That made us survive and emerge From the influence of the colonizers Now we stand proud and strong together. I chose to write a poem for my midterm exam in Readings in Philippine History. My poem's content is about my learnings from this course, particularly how colonizers influenced our culture and how we still practice it today, and how our country always fought for the Philippines whenever we were conquered by others, which made us stronger.
My output is related to my learnings because I
relate this to our previous lessons, such as writing a poem, because many of our ancestors used to write literature, specifically poems, to express themselves. I also included a collage at the bottom. The images depict some of the Filipino cultures and traditions.
