Agta sa Burabod also known as Black Girl of the Spring is a poem

written by Merlinda Bobis, a trilingual award-winning Filipino-

Australian writer, performer, and scholar, who presents us with a
societal vision by employing the idea of Marxism. This revolves around
a girl facing discriminations due to her darker complexion which is a
current controversial unfairness of racial and economic disparities.

Marxism states that society is in fight with itself. It believes that

this struggle is between the rich, the bourgeoise, and the poor, which
leads to racial oppression. In the poem, the girl is an Agta, commonly
referred to as Negritos. Agtas are known for their small physique, dark
complexion, kinky hair, big lips, and little nose. Looking through a
Marxist view, the young girl evidently comes from a lower social
background. The Agtas’ way of life is so primitive.

This days I’m starting to lose my will to
live and disregard the true meaning of
life because of the current issues
happening in our country.

Until I discovered ✨Existentialism✨

Existentialism is the philosophical belief
we are each responsible for creating
purpose or meaning in our own lives.

So I decided to enjoy my life!

By:
1. Doing the things I love
2. Nurturing relationships
3. Being kind to myself
4. trying new things
5. Spending time in nature

Each one of us has our own way of

enjoying life. Our purpose is not given by
anyone. Lets live our life to the fullest
because we only live once
