1. The front axle assemblies and the rear axle assemblies are driven by different drive chains. The drive chains are installed on Drive Sprocket
(B) and Drive Sprocket (D). The drive sprockets are mounted on the drive shaft of the hydrostatic piston motor. The two drive sprockets are
the same component. The drive sprocket on the hydrostatic piston motor has sprocket drives on different planes. The drive sprockets on the
front and rear axles are the same component. The sprockets on the front and rear axles are mounted at 180 degrees of opposite direction.
Sprocket (A) is in line with Drive Sprocket (D) and that Sprocket (C) is in line with Drive Sprocket (B). The drive sprockets are installed in a
manner that will allow the drive chains to turn in a straight line. If any of the sprockets are installed incorrectly, the drive chains cannot be
installed properly. Note the orientation of all Drive Sprocket (B) and Drive Sprocket (D). Note the orientation of Sprocket (A) and Sprocket (C)
on the axles.

2. Clean the mating surfaces of the tandem drive and the piston motor.

Typical Example 8 Bolt Flange Shown
Note: If you are replacing the studs, clean the mating surfaces, and apply Tooling (B) to the flange of the stud.

3. Apply Tooling (A) to the frame mounting surface. Apply Tooling (B) in a continuous bead on piston motor (13) pilot diameter and the mating
surface.

4. Use a suitable lifting device to install piston motor (13). The weight of piston motor (13) is approximately 47 kg (104 lb). Install nuts (12).
Tighten nuts (12) in the sequence shown in Illustration 4.

a. For the 10 bolt flange, tighten nuts (12) to a torque of 40 ± 10 N·m (30 ± 7 lb ft). Then tighten nuts (12) to a final torque of 110 ± 10 N·m
(81 ± 7 lb ft) in the same sequence.

b. For the 8 bolt flange, tighten nuts (12) to a torque of 240 ± 40 N·m (177 ± 30 lb ft) in the sequence shown.

5. Connect hose assemblies (11) and (14).

Note: The chamfered side of the spacer must face toward the piston motor.

6. Install spacer (10).

7. Install inner sprocket (9).

8. Install outer sprocket (8).

9. Install washer (7).

10. Install bolt (6).

11. Refill the drive chain oil into the tandem housing. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Drive Chain Case Oil - Change".

End By:

a. Adjust the drive chain tension.

b. Install the tire and rim.

c. Install the gear pump.
