acceptance of menstruation. This can help empower individuals to manage their periods with
confidence, dignity, and pride.

sustainability. Many hygiene products, including period products are not biodegradable,
which contributes to the growing issue of waste management. By collecting and donating
these products, we can help ensure that they are being used and not going to waste.
Additionally, some organizations and initiatives collect and distributes reusable period
products such as menstrual cups or cloth pads, which can significantly reduce waste and
promote sustainability. In conclusion, collecting and donating hygiene products, including
period products, is a critical initiative with far-reaching benefits. It promotes access.
TARGET COMMUNITY
The project will be implemented in Purok Calabo, Poblacion Zone 2, Capoocan, Leyte. This
project comprised of individuals who are in need of essential hygiene products, including
period products. We aim to address the critical issue of inadequate access to these items,
particularly among marginalized populations such as low-income families, homeless
individuals, and refugees. Our goal is to collect and donate hygiene products to ensure that
everyone in our community has access to basic necessities that are essential for their health,
dignity, and well-being. By focusing on period products, we aim to alleviate the burden and
challenges faced by individuals who menstruate, promoting gender equity and empowering
people to lead healthy and fulfilling lives. Through our collective efforts, we strive to create a
community where everyone has equal access to hygiene products, regardless of their
socioeconomic background or circumstances.
For women and girls living in poverty, menstrual products are often considered a luxury item
and are not covered by government assistance programs such as SNAP or WIC. This means
that they have to rely on donations from charities and non-profit organizations to access basic
feminine hygiene products. By providing menstrual products such as pads and tampons, we
aim to ensure that women and girls can manage their period with dignity and without
interruption to their daily lives.
In addition to menstrual products, we seek to collect other essential hygiene products,
including soap, shampoo, toothpaste, and deodorant, to improve overall health and well-being.
Homeless shelters and refugee camps are often overcrowded and have limited access to clean
water and sanitation facilities. By providing these basic hygiene products, we can help
prevent the spread of illnesses and disease that can be easily transmitted in close quarters.

cannot afford them but also help preserve their dignity and self-esteem. By recognizing the
significance of providing period products in particular, we acknowledge the importance of
menstrual health and strive to break the stigma surrounding menstruation. Such efforts foster
a more equitable society where everyone has the opportunity to lead and dignified lives.
