Mathematics Fellowships
The Department of Mathematics at King’s College London welcomes applications from excellent
candidates for fellowships. We encourage expressions of interest from underrepresented groups,
including women and minority ethnic candidates.

We are currently accepting expressions of interest for the following opportunities; please read the
application instructions carefully, as these vary depending on the opportunity:

• Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851 Fellowship (Internal Deadline to express interest: 13
November 2023, Funder Deadline: 8 January 2024)

How to apply:
• Confirm a Sponsor: Applicants must first identify and make contact with a potential sponsor, a staff
list is available here. The sponsor should be an academic who is working in the relevant field to the
applicant’s proposal. An initial discussion between the prospective applicant and sponsor must take
place about the proposal to ensure mutual interest and to gain confirmation of the sponsor’s
willingness to support the application. The sponsor must be made aware of the administrative
responsibilities this role will entail.
• Complete an Expression of Interest Form: The applicant should then complete an Expression of
Interest online form by 6 November 2023. This form comprises a cover letter, a one-page
draft research proposal and a link to an inspire/google scholar profile (or similar). Once the applicant
has completed this, they should inform the Senior Research Support Officer (SRSO) mathematics-
research@kcl.ac.uk

Outcome of Expression of Interest:

The Deputy Head of Department (Research) will consider applications, liaising with the sponsor, and the
applicant will receive an email confirmation of the outcome from mathematics-research@kcl.ac.uk. For
those fellowships with application caps, the selection process will be conducted at College level. For any
enquiries, please contact mathematics-research@kcl.ac.uk
