Crafting an essay on the subject of "All Essay Topics" presents a uniquely challenging endeavor.
The inherent difficulty lies in the expansive scope of the topic itself. "All Essay Topics"
encompasses a vast array of subjects, themes, and perspectives, rendering it an incredibly broad
canvas upon which to paint.
To begin with, grappling with the sheer breadth of potential subjects is daunting. From literature
to science, philosophy to politics, each domain offers its own labyrinth of ideas, arguments, and
counterarguments. The task of selecting which aspects to explore within such a boundless
landscape requires not only discernment but also a keen understanding of one's own interests
and expertise.
Moreover, the depth of analysis required for each chosen topic compounds the challenge.
Delving into the nuances of any subject demands rigorous research, critical thinking, and
coherent synthesis of information. Whether dissecting a literary text, dissecting a scientific
theory, or dissecting a historical event, the essayist must navigate through layers of complexity
to unearth meaningful insights and connections.
Furthermore, the very concept of "All Essay Topics" implies a universality that is inherently
elusive. What resonates as significant within one context may pale in comparison within another.
Thus, the essayist is tasked not only with comprehending diverse subject matter but also with
discerning the relative importance and relevance of each topic within its respective sphere.
Finally, the challenge culminates in the act of composition itself. Transforming nebulous ideas
and scattered research into a cohesive, compelling essay demands both creativity and precision.
Crafting a narrative that engages the reader, sustains their interest, and ultimately persuades or
enlightens them requires not only mastery of language but also a deep understanding of
rhetorical strategies and narrative techniques.
In conclusion, the difficulty of writing an essay on "All Essay Topics" cannot be overstated. It is
a formidable undertaking that demands intellectual agility, scholarly rigor, and creative prowess.
Yet, within this challenge lies the opportunity for discovery, for illumination, and for the
cultivation of a deeper understanding of the world around us.

The Puerto Rican people have a rich history of culture and ethnicity. Despite the
many migrations of the Puerto Ricans, an intense spirit of ethnicity and cultural pride
has followed these people wherever they have gone, whether that be migrations from
rural areas to industrialized cities or from the small island of Puerto Rico to the vast
mainland of the United States. However, the struggles of these people have become
obscured over the passing of generations. As evidenced by Shakira Ramos,
generations of Puerto Ricans born and raised in the United States aren t always well
informed of the rich history of their ancestors. Shakira admits ... Show more content

The migratory currents of the time foreshadow later massive displacements (345).
These later migrations would ensue for the duration of the entire twentieth century,
bringing increasing numbers of Puerto Ricans into the United States.
With the Spanish American War of 1898 came added difficulty for the population of
Puerto Rico. Recently acquired by the United States, citizens of Puerto Rico were
actually citizens of nowhere until granted statutory citizenship to the United States in
1917. The Jones Act of 1917 merely granted Puerto Ricans a status of citizenship,
which was not equivalent to the constitutional citizenship. This partial citizenship,
however, did not prevent the United States from drafting Puerto Ricans into the
armed forces during World War I, or from recruiting Puerto Ricans to labor in defense
industries during the time of war. The desire for full citizenship as well as poor
economic conditions in the homeland resulted in the migrations of many Puerto
Ricans to the United States throughout the twentieth century.
One measure taken to benefit the Puerto Ricans was the passing of the Johnson Act in
1921, which restricted the immigration of Europeans to the United States. Passing
this act created increased availability of jobs for Puerto Ricans choosing to migrate to
the United States in search of better employment opportunities than could be found in
their homeland. While the aim of the Johnson Act
Alexandria In Justine
The representation of Alexandria in Lawrence Durrell s Justine In his novel, Justine,
Lawrence Durrell gives his readers a new version of Alexandria, claiming that this is
the real city . The novel would arouse many questions to an Alexandrian reader s
mind; does Durrell factually represent the Cosmopolitan city of the time? Do his
characters reflect the kind of life which the Alexandrian inhabitants had back then?
Or is he giving, throughout Justine, a parallel mythical city which he created out of
his imagination? The book clearly reflects Durrell s viewpoint regarding Alexandria;
he exhibits it as an erotic city that enforces a state of total indulgence in sensual
pleasures upon its inhabitants. Moreover, he tackles the city... Show more content on

Durrell presents two Alexandrias; the Arabic Alexandria which is always related to
negative descriptions and always looked at with resentment and disgust, and the
European Alexandria which comes along with the clean streets and the civilized
characters. Durrell exhibits the Arab Quarters as an undefined mass; he does not
name their streets or their cafes; he gives them no identity. In contrast, the European
streets are named, for instance; Rue Foaad, Rue Sherief and Naby Daniel. The voice
of the Arabs is shut; we do not get to see any Egyptian characters except for Nessim,
whom we know lately in the Alexandria Quartet about his national treason; a person
who has no sense of belonging towards Egypt. Nessim also is so westernized; the
fact that Nessim s voice is heard in the novel goes back to his wealthy state and his
high social rank that did enable him to neglect his Egyptian nationality and have a
European lifestyle. Hence, Nessim does not represent the real Egyptian Alexandrian
inhabitant of the time. Durrell s claim that only the city is real is questionable; you
cannot write a novel as a representative of Alexandria and its inhabitants while
choosing to foreground only the western voices and background the Arab ones. So
Durrell s colonial ideology is shown in his writing; his tone is racial and biased
against the Egyptians. Moreover, Durrell depicts Muslim Arabs as racist violent
people who persecute
JUST ONE DRINK
JUST ONE DRINK is an intriguing, seductive thriller. The script is driven by themes
about evil, revenge, redemption, and forgiveness. It explores the idea that one can
never escape their past.
While there are engaging elements of the script with a potentially complex character
in the role of Tamara, overall the script would benefit from more development,
especially in the area of structure, pace, tension, as well as further character
development.
First, the story opens in the past to set up the backstory. It s a creative choice to do
this, but not essential. The backstory can be revealed through dialogue or through the
grandmother s journal. Consider instead opening up with Tamara seducing or luring a
susceptible man to her home. Then ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She has the potential of being a very complex and fascinating character (like in

not convincing.
As mentioned, Tamara and Steve also share no real chemistry with each other and
their relationship is never believable.
Steve could have been a more effective and likable character, but he also turns
sadistic when he enjoys killing Andrei versus struggling with his moral dilemma. He
essentially turned into a sadistic criminal, like the man he hates. The audience never
feels empathy for Steve or cares for him. It should be noted that it could have been a
powerful character study of watching Steve change from passive to aggressive if this
were really his story.
Andrei could be a more deceptive charmer. Why he s speaking at the school isn t
convincing. He really never says anything that warrants him speaking to a classroom.

contrived in the opening scene when he explains why he s sadistic. There s too much

The source is a well conducted and logical experiment which explores the effects of
homeopathy. The source s overall quality is good as its answers and explores the
topic it addresses. Although it is informative there was no use of citations and
scientific language. This source was not peer reviewed thus affecting its validity.
Reliability:
This source has not been repeated more than once. The amount of subjects was also
small thus effecting the reliability of this experiment. These results could have been a
coincidence and repetition is therefore imperative. It was not double blinded and the
scientists chose which group received which medication. They also collected the
information and thus can be considered biased. The absence of blinding contributes
to its unreliability.
Usefulness:
This source is a primary source and therefore is first hand, unchanged information. It
is useful as it explores the idea of placebo and its ability to heal which contributes
greatly to the rest of the research task.
Limitations:
Limitations within the experiment include the lack of double blinding which as
mentioned above effect the sources credibility.
The participants were unaware of what they were taking. However, they agreed to do
so therefore making the experiment ethical. No explanations were given for the
results obtained and why the medications were equally effective. The experiment was
found on the website The Homeopathic Coach and showed clear signs of a lack of
peer review. This contributes to the experiment being unreliable.

Evolution Of Database Management Systems
EVOLUTION OF DBMS
1.INTRODUCTION
As technology is rapidly emerging and changing, organizations are quickly adapting
to it, and with this technology and software advancement includes database
management systems. Database management systems have become a crucial tool in
every organization. It will be rather more surprising to see a company not using
DBMS in this age. As organizations emerge and grow by years, they have numerous
data sets to handle and database management systems is a software application which
helps organizations perform this mundane task easily. It collects, organizes the
databases and also stores and performs functions on the databases making it easier for
users to access. Now days, an organization wouldn t survive without data and
information. The way this data is important for an organization, to manage this data is
equally important. Database management systems has become a part of every field
right from schools, libraries, medical centers, airlines, chemical plants etcetera. With
the effective use of database management systems software in organizations, it comes
with advantages and disadvantages which will be later explained in the findings
section of this paper.
The research would concentrate more on how database management system
applications have progressed since the past decade. The research objective is to study
the evolution of DBMS and learn about the emerging alternative applications for this
traditional system. The positive and negative effects
Japan s Identity And Cultural Identity
Harumi Befu is an Emeritus Professor of Anthropological Sciences in the School of
Humanities and Sciences at Stanford University. He has published in both English
and Japanese journals, and his research interests include the social and analysis
aspects of Japan s globalisation, and analysis of Japan s nationality and cultural
identity. In his article Concepts of Japan, Japanese culture and the Japanese , he
discusses in a strong and unbiased method the reality of what Japan truly is.
However, despite the strength of his article there are the negatives, where he does
not address any solutions to the issues he raises. When most people think of Japan,
it is the main and central island of Honshu, with their culture and language being
the first thing that comes to mind. The climate, culture, language and people of
Honshu have always been praised in various means of media such as paintings and
stories. Resulting with Japan s minor islands like Hokkaido and Okinawa and those
who live in those areas are often forgotten, same with individual cultures and
dialects of Japan as a whole. Befu attempts to discuss in order to provide a different
approach to common views of Japan by discussing how diverse, multi cultural and
multi national the country is. Befu is also not afraid to discuss the darker sides of
Japanese thought and society by addressing various issues, such as the notion of
essentialism that is evident within Japanese culture, which dismisses the idea that

Maggie s Dynamic Character In Everyday Use By Alice
Walker
Everyday Use , by Alice Walker, is a story of Mrs. Johnson and her two daughters,
Dee and Maggie, whose personalities are totally different. In this story, Walker uses
two hand stitched quilts to symbolize the inheritance. Walker explain her characters
as someone who accept African American heritage and appreciate its values. The
mom is a dynamic character because of the change in her way of judging her two
daughters and finally acknowledging the beauty of Maggie. Maggie, too, is a
dynamic character compared to Dee because Dee s character remains the same
throughout the story. Walker has written Everyday Use with a historical touch,
especially when Mrs. Johnson speaks about Maggie receiving the quilts her ancestors
made. However, Dee, Maggie s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The story takes place at Mrs. Johnson s house, where Mrs. Johnson and Maggie are
waiting for Dee to come over for a visit. Mrs. Johnson raised two daughters on her
own. She does not see herself as a bright and beautiful woman but takes pride in
being able to work like a man. She is proud of her yard and the hard work she and
Maggie have done to make it look when Dee comes to visit. Mama is portrayed as
a large, big boned woman with rough, man working hands (Walker). She also
makes reference in being able to kill and clean a hog as mercilessly as a man
(Walker). These assertions do not portray her as being the typical elegant and
aesthetic mother but women who can do anything to make her daughters delighted
and joyous. She does, nevertheless, enjoy doing countless things. She also dreams of
having a prosperous life. Mama and Maggie are both more fascinated in the
practicality of objects around them more than anything else. Alice Walker draws
images through her words of three women in a family. Mrs. Johnson is affable and
tough. Mrs. Johnson s inner monologue suggests us a glimpse of the limits of a
mother s unconditional love and her devotion towards her children. Mama is a
practical character. When she says, But of course all this does not show on television

with her both feet on the ground. She knows that those things sound good only in
imagination but they are not conceivable. Critic David White advocates, Mama takes
pride in the practical aspects of her nature and that she has not spent a great deal of
time contemplating abstract concepts such as heritage... [but her lack of education]
does not prevent her from having an inherent understanding of heritage (White). She
is a spiritual woman. She characterizes one of her actions in
The Jim Crow Era
For as long as humanity has existed, equality has been an evident, non disappearing
struggle for individuals all around the world. This is relevant in terms of gender,
nationality, and race, especially including the differences in skin color. The Jim Crow
Era, which occurred during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, can be depicted as
one of the worst time periods in terms of equality. After the American Civil War, most
of the American southern states have passed several laws that denied the rights of
African Americancitizens, which have been the target of discrimination for reasons
none other than things that they can not control in their lives, such as their race, skin
color, wealth, and origin. When people speak of Jim Crow, they... Show more content

Also, since the Black community had no rights, it is crucial to understand that
citizens did not have any freedom of speech in their daily lives. If they did speak up
against the norms of society during the Jim Crow Era, there ultimately were
consequences that could lead to their deaths. The Klu Klux Klan, often referred to as
the KKK, is the most infamous of the groups dedicated to discrimination of African
Americans. The goal of the Klu Klux Klan was to restore and maintain white
supremacy in the South during the Jim Crow Era. Their actions included riots and
violently attacking black citizens at night. Despite their restrictions on freedom of
speech, several individuals have rose to the occasion to make attempts on improving
the rights of African Americans during the Jim Crow Era. These individuals include
Martin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela, and Malcolm X. The Black community had
suffered roughly for many years due to the segregation and discrimination during the
Jim Crow Era, and has shaped the society today, however, there is still discrimination

The Outside Dynamic Environment Punctuating Public
Sector...
A service is defined as an action of helping or doing work for someone . In the
private sector the action of helping or doing work for someone is on the basis of
making a profit and shareholder accountability, it is goal driven, profit motivation
and reward orientated. In the public sector an action of helping or doing work for
someone is supplying a public need such as transport, communications or health
service. It is a service provided to the population with greater public scrutiny and is
not profit motivated. Public sector organisations are agents of the state to do the
states business and are not in a position to make a profit; they are mandated to
provide a service to all. Public sector services are complex by nature by that I mean
that they are difficult to manage and lead. It can be argued that there are many
reasons for these complexities, notwithstanding the influence of context i.e. the
outside dynamic environment punctuating public sector organisations globally. Some
of the reasons for the complexities are beyond the organisations control e.g.
population, who you serve, labour intensive, demographics etc. it cannot choose to
exclude citizens but must treat all citizens fairly and equally. It is proposed to
discuss the following complexities for public sector managers as I see being a
challenge in my organisation in more detail 1.The effect of the political environment
on public organisations. The influence of Politics is a challenge for public sector

I grew up in the St. Louis suburb of Eureka, where I still live today. If you ever
look at me and wonder where that scar on my forehead came from, well it
happened when I was roughly 12 months old when I fell out of a moving car. My
parents raised me as a Methodist at the Eureka United Methodist Church. During my
years attending Geggie Elementary School, every Sunday my parents would force
me to get out of bed and go to Church with them. During church, all the children
would go to Sunday school while the parents were listening to the sermon. In Sunday
school, we had a teacher, sometimes my mom, who would give out fun church
related activities. However, I did not enjoy doing that mostly because it involved
getting out of bed early and since I did not like the subject matter either, but at that
age, children do not fully grasp the importance of attending church and... Show more

The Problem Of Substance Abuse
The problematic situation that brings a client to seek counseling is not often seen
clearly by the client or others that may be associated. This is the reason that a
therapist must use various assessment tools to determine potential disorders that may
be the root to a problem. Though at times a client may seek counseling with a known
substance abuseissue there are more cases where a client is oblivious to the
potential contribution that substance abuse has on the problem that help is sought
for. Understood that substance dependency is nondiscriminatory to age, gender,
race or creed, a therapist approaches the matter with the client knowing that a
problem is recognized and there is a hope for a solution being sought by the client.
At the same time it is also known that an addictive personality will be protective of
this disorder, producing a defensive posture and plausible deniability. A therapist
must assess the potential of such a disorder existing and the readiness of the client
to change within the initial interview. Chamberlain (2013) notes that it is initially
important to ask a client directly about his or her use of drugs (p. 125). The
interview process will assess the proper screening that must take place in order to
derive a proper diagnosis for treatment. Five such tools used by therapists to screen
and assess a client differ in various ways depending on the client s age and
willingness.

Power In The Prince By Machiavelli
A Prince, who is the ruler of a state, faces many challenges in holding power. He is
put to the test with the many choices made as a ruler. This includes choosing
whether to be loved or feared, and choosing if the conquered shall be ruined. In
addition, he must find a way to have the support of the people. In order to be a
successful ruler, a prince has to have public order based on the rules of morality. On
the other hand, in order to gain more power and keep power he has to break the
same rules. This includes being ruthless, dishonest, and using people. In his book The
Prince, Machiavelli suggests ways in which someone can acquire and hold power.
He does this by urging that a prince be bold, and that at times he should be cruel, or
else he will lose the support of his subjects resulting in the government being
overthrown. In addition, he states that a prince should lie to his subjects, then lie
again when caught. Besides that, he says a prince should lure others into trusting
him then murder them. Machiavelli also says that a prince should hide behind
others when he is caught for his offenses. In one section, while discussing mixed
monarchies, Machiavelli discusses how it s easier to conquer land that is similar
culturally than to conquer land that isn t similar culturally. There are problems that
arise with a culturally different land. He writes about how changes are needed to be
made if the area has a different language or way of life. To fix differences, he
Hacking Is An Illegal Activity
Definition of Hacking
Hacking is an illegal activity that expert computer programmers do in order to access
someone else s personal data or information without permission. These people have
developed skills to dominate and break through the software. They called themselves
hackers. Some hackers consider hacking as an art. In addition, Hackers usually use
the computer and the Internet to hack into the software system remotely which means
they can do it even if they live in entirely different regions. Hacking has threatened
the security of all people, companies and governments all over the world because
hacking can cause harmful consequences, such as the installation of malicious
software or damage the software (Merriam Webster), (What Is Computer Hacking).

The teachers must follow their code of conduct that states that they must use

Parents and teachers don t need to work against each other but rather together. Both

Designing An Online Educational Environment
The process for designing an online educational environment is a unique experiment
and must be done in a methodical manner. The equipment, multimedia, and software
and hardware all have to be incorporated into a virtual space that can be accessed by
multiple user simultaneously as well as on the individual s time and location.
Providing this type of service requires a standardized preparation and planning for
the virtual experience to be beneficial to its users. Simply logging on to the web and

the requirement for learningand earning a degree. Yenitepe and Tezgider stated that

Analysis Of Tennessee Williams A Streetcar Named Desire
Tennessee Williams was born in Columbus, Mississippi in 1911. A Streetcar
Named Desire was set at around his time and it describes the decline of the
Southern Belle named Blanche DuBois. The pathos found in Williams s drama
came from the playwright s own life. Alcoholism, depression, loneliness, desire, as
well as insanity all played a huge part throughout William s lifetime, thus,
incorporating these into his own life. Williams portrayed different social groups in
his plays, and how they clash (such as the role of men and women, the urban and
southern lifestyles) to criticize many aspects of society such as social criticism.

unable to complete her dreams which could suggest that the American dream may
not exist since Blanche was unable to achieve it. Furthermore, love is the main

A Procative Approach To Improving Minor League
Baseball...
Under the protection of Major League Baseball s ( MLB ) longtime antitrust
exemption, Minor League Baseball ( MiLB ) has continuously redefined and
reshaped itself according to Baseball s overall needs. But while MLB salaries have
increased dramatically since the MLB reserve clause was broken in 1975, the
salaries of minor league players have not followed suit. On February 7, 2014, a
group of minor league players led by former minor leaguer Aaron Senne filed a class
action complaint against MLB and three MLB clubs alleging violations of minimum
wage and hour laws. According to the complaint, most minor leaguer earn between
$3,000 and $7,500 working between fifty and seventy hours per week during the five
month season. The wage and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once a player is placed on a club s 40 man roster, he is entitled to the minimum
salary prescribed in the Basic Agreement, which for 2014 is $500,000 for MLB
service and $81,500 for MiLB service. Historically, while the average minor league
salary has risen by just 75 percent since 1976, the average MLB salary has risen by
approximately 2,000 percent thanks in part to union representation and open
markets. Regardless of the legality of the claims raised in Senne, MLB has an
ethical responsibility to change the current system to ensure that minor league
players are not living in poverty by fairly compensating them for their hard work,
both financially and with other intrinsic compensation. A proactive approach that
balances the interests of players and the financial needs of clubs can solve these
issues while retaining the development structure that clubs rely on. First and most
simply, MLB should increase monthly salaries for minor league players. Having
players paid below the poverty line is embarrassing for an organization that
produces over $8 billion in revenue per year. To answer this concern, MLB clubs
can take advantage of the colossal jumps in television revenue to increase salaries.
MLB can also help, perhaps using some of the $750 million added per season by
their new national media contracts. By multiplying the current figures by 2.5 (see
Figure 2), a structure is created that gives all

value of human life as such. Leaving aside differences in ideology as well as
specifically staked out theoretical positions, no one doubts the relevance of the
category of person or challenges it as the unexamined and incontrovertible
presupposition of every possible perspective. This tacit convergence with regard to
the category of person is especially obvious in a hotly debated field like bioethics.
Truth be told, the debate between Catholics and secularists turns on the precise
moment at which a living being can be considered a ... Show more content on

This thesis, which appears most frequently in the recent work of Stefano RodotГ (S.
RodotГ , 2006) and Luigi Ferrajoli (L. Ferrajoli, 2001), is that the renewed value
awarded the category of person lies in the fact that only it is able to bridge the
difference that is established between the concept of man and that of citizen, one
formed at the very inception of the Modern State. This difference as Hannah Arendt
argued in the immediate postwar period (H. Arendt, 1996) is born from the exclusive
attachment to nation or territory (particolaristico) that characterizes the category of
citizen, where citizen is understood as a member of a given national community and
therefore not to be extended to every man as such. The idea was that only a concept
that was potentially universal, like person, would allow for the strengthening and
expanding of the fundamental rights of every human being. It s here then that we find
the calls made over a vast cultural front, to move away from the limited notion of
citizen (or individual) to the more general one of person as Martha Nussbaum has
recently argued (M. Nussbaum, 2002). It is a formulation that a large part of
contemporary philosophy has accepted in different guises.
Turning to more theoretical work, one finds the same movement of ideas. Reflections
on personal identity and hence the renewed interest in the category of person
constitute one of the rare points of
Nikki Giovanni
Nikki Giovanni
Nikki Giovanni has evolved as writer; naturalist and a modernist later. Naturalism
was a literary movement that was taking place from the 1880s to 1940s that used
detailed realism to suggest that social conditions, heredity, and environment had
inescapable force in shaping human character. Giovanni shows naturalism in her
works Poem (No Name No. 2) , and [Untitled] (For Margaret Danner) . Just to give a
little background on modernism,
Modernism is when writers proclaimed a new subject matter for literature and the
writer feels that its new way of looking at life required a new form, a new way of
writing. The writers of this period tend to pursue more experimental and usually more
highly individualistic forms of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Her poetry also becomes more musical, working off of the definite alliteration of
her early poetry as in Bitter Black Bitterness, but containing a lyrical style
resembling famous singers like Aretha Franklin and Roberta Flack, both of whom
she writes about. Giovanni, embracing sound and repetition in [Untitled] (For
Margaret Danner), sings, one ounce of truth benefits like ripples on a pond one
ounce of truth benefits like a ripple on a pond one ounce of truth benefits like ripples
on a pond as things change remember my smile (Giovanni,137).
Although Giovanni is still concerned with racial equality and similar political
issues, in her later poetry, she shows a new emphasis on a universal struggle for
truth, exchanging her earlier resentment, for the individual quest for beauty. She
discovers a newfound statement towards reality and poetry. In the poem Poetry,
found in The Women and the Men (1975), she writes: That life is precious which is
all we poets wrapped in our loneliness are trying to say (Giovanni,176)
Here she expresses, as she often does in her latter poetry, how lonely life is,
especially a life of poetry. Giovanni says that writing poetry is a lonely profession
(Reid 47). In the last poem of this vast selection, But Since You Finally Asked,
Giovanni provides a closure, clearly addressing her audience when saying, let me say:
I am proud to be a Black American . . . We didn t write a constitution . . . we
Marshall Plan Essay
This paper will analyze the Marshall Plan from both the international political
economic (IPE) liberal and IPE critical theorist philosophies and what a theorist
from each belief would say about the Marshall Plan in regards to its economic and
political implications. The essay will do this first with an explanation of the IPE
liberal theory; followed by an explanation of the IPE critical theory. Next, the essay
will describe the background of the Marshall Plan aid and what the Marshall Plan
hoped to accomplish in Europe, specifically Western Europe, following the end of
the Second World War. The essay will then compare and contrast how an IPE liberal
and IPE critical theorist would evaluate the Marshall Plan aid in Europe.
Liberalism in the international political economy is a theory that arose together with
the Industrial Revolution in Britain. Adam Smith and David Ricardo are two major
theorists who promoted the idea that free trade and open markets are beneficial to all
states and that they can generate wealth for all parties involved. (O Brien and
Williams, 2013, pg.13 14) Within liberalism the important actor, the basic unit of
analysis, is the individual, who is thought of as being able to analyze different
choices and select the best approach. The individual seeks to foster growth for
themselves and their business, which in turn, according to liberal theorists would
create positive advancement for the entire economy. This belief follows the thought

Under the Alabama Code Section 34 3 1 Unlawful Practice of Law states that any
individual without having a license to practice law will be guilty of a

Pathos Ethos In Bowling For Columbine
The 2002 film Bowling for Columbine is a documentary written, directed, and
narrated by Michael Moore. Moore has won numerous awards including the Academy
Award for best documentary feature. The film explores acts of violence with guns
and the primary causes for the Columbine School Massacre, where two students shot
and killed thirteen people and injured twenty one others. Bowling for Columbine
takes a deep and often disturbing probe into what the motives may have been for the
shooters and investigates other gun related issues along the way. Moore explores
different aspects of gun culture such as receiving free guns from a bank, taking a
look at America s violent history, and interviewing important people like Charlton
Heston, former president of the National Rifle Association. The film ultimately comes
to the conclusion that the American culture of fear along with the accessibility of
guns is the reason why there are so many gun related deaths. This thesis is supported
by many examples Ethos, Logos, and Pathos evidence.
Ethos is when the author uses the reputation, credibility, experience, and values of
the author or an expert as a means of persuasion. Moore himself is a renowned
documentary maker and he ensures that his film is factually true. However, at times
he manipulates facts and other people to suit his needs. For example, in the
beginning of the film he is seen opening an account at a bank where customers that
open an account receive a free gun. Moore himself
Mccarthyism And Mccarthyism And The Cold War
McCarthy Trials
Cold War
The Cold War started after World War II around 1947.
The Cold War was an international power struggle between the capitalist United
States and its allies and the communist Soviet Union and its allies.
Both sides were competing for dominance and exploited every chance they could for
expansion.
The term cold was used to describe how America and the Soviet Union were not in
direct contact, however used client states to fight for their beliefs such as the incident
in Vietnam where the south was anti communist, supplied by the U.S. and the north
was pro communist supplied by communist Russia or China.
McCarthyism
The term McCarthy Trials is referring to Joseph McCarthy, which was an American
politician and senator.
McCarthy is mostly known for the second red scare in which he claimed that many
Communists and Soviet spies have infiltrated numerous places in the United States
including the federal government.
He also made a claim that he had a list of 205 State Department employees who were
members of the Communist Party and that communist spies were everywhere and
Communists were helping to shape the foreign policies because of this, and basically
that he was America s only hope.
He started by accusing low level officials and made his way up.
Fear was a large part of this as a fear of world domination by communists or nuclear
holocaust, especially because the Soviet Union exploded its first A Bomb in 1949
and China became communist.

Martha Ballard s Diary Analysis
Laurel Thatcher Ulrich uses Martha Ballard s diary to portray life in rural New
England in the late 1700 and early 1800 s. Using this diary and other historical
material she recreates the 27 years of life that Martha has disclosed in her diary. By
using Martha s life and words she recreates what living was like during the pre
industrial era. She features the role that midwives and women in general played in
the economic survival of families during this era. The diaryby itself does not shed
light on all the social and cultural traditions of Martha Ballards time. By using it with
other historical information Ulrich was able to spin a story that gave an
understanding of this era. It also shows why Ballard s story is worth reading about and

Although the story focuses on the works of Martha Ballard she makes it perfectly
clear in the book that caring for the health of others was the responsibility of all
women in the community. Very rarely in the book did Martha attend someone on by
herself. Ulrich states, In such circumstances it was comforting to have the women
with her; they could witness her efforts to ensure a safe delivery and they could
assist with the sorrowful task of preparing an infant for burial. Several times in the
diary Ballard referenced someone laying out the deceased in their funeral clothes or
the after nurse that came to help with a newborn. Martha Ballard had her own family
and home duties to attend. It is chronicled that she would often times stay for days
with someone but it is unrealistic to think she could take care of all things herself.
Ulrich discusses infant mortality rate and that the support of the community is
what made Martha such a great midwife. Ballard did not simply just show up at a
birth. The impending parents had to choose her and ask her to come. Such
confidence comes by word of mouth from someone that has had their child
delivered by Martha. Even those who lost a child can attest that Ballard did all she
could to try to save their child. Having the women present also gives someone else
to pass on Ballard s professional ability to their own

The modern agricultural practices cause the degradation of the eco system, land and
environment due to the modern day by products of agricultural. ( https:/
/www.conserve energy future.com/causes and effects of agricultural pollution.php)
They have several aspects of agricultural pollution. At first, the soil erosion and
sedimentation, the soil is made up by many layers and the top one can support the
agricultural growth or the grazing. The soil is eroded by the teacher s annual decline
in fertility. The resulting sedimentation causes soil build up in areas then the
agricultural pollution prevents the natural movement of the nutrients to other fertile
areas. The soil erosion destroys land and swallow farmland. They reduce soil fertility
and intensify the development of drought. The sedimentation of the river bed
increases flooding and influence development.
Secondly, the pesticides and fertilizers are the largest damages for the pollution. The
pesticides must be perishing pests immediately to protect the agricultural and seed.
Mainly used for the prevention and control of agricultural pests and urban health
pests. They have large dosage and many varieties. In the 20th century, as long as the
rapid development of agriculture, the pesticides can raise the agriculture production.
However, almost all the pesticides can seriously change the ecological system and
they are most harmful to human s health. The other will be
Compare Urania And The Muse
The Muse Urania watched the dying light That faded like her love s delight, And
as death took hold, She felt her soul grow old, Contrasting with epic Calliope
Whose eternal youth killed Urania s amity. Melpomene haunts her, as wel,l And
Urania can t escape Hell, But as tragedy struck She knew she would have no luck
Holding on to what little joy She had before she was played like a toy Love came
back with lyric vengeance That forced Urania s heart to pay penance Through songs
that were hollow And sorhymes full of sorrow, And she wished that Euterpe Would
let her words set her free. If Urania s pain weren t murderous, Thalia would have
been wondrous. But comedy s company Burned love with irony, And words of humor
hurt endlessly When love
