Introduction:

Career guidance plays a very important role in the lives of all

individuals, as it helps in setting future goals and chooses careers. Career guidance
is much needed service to those who did not plan for their future at an early stage;
more should be done to assist the younger generations in personal career
development. When high school students have a clear understanding of the best
career choices for them, end result is better planning, more college enrollments,
and a more productive society for the future. For this, Friends Union for Energising
Lives (FUEL) is playing an important role by conducting career guidance seminars
to the high school and college students. This is the 50 th seminar which we have
delivered to the PU students those who all engaged in the 9 days training program
organized by Vidyaposhak.

Action Plan:

In this workshop we have planned to make students understand

different career opportunities, procedure to appear those careers, different
competitive exams and also planned to make them to understand the importance of
having goal and passion and hard work to achieve the desired goal. For that we
have involved some social games and shown motivational video clips to the
students who all were participated in the workshop.

Analysis of Action Plan:

1. Introduction activity:

This game we involved in the workshop to

make them clear about the networking and the

importance of knowing some necessary details of

each person whom we meet in our life. Students were actively involved in

this activity. And they understood the basic theme of activity. This activity

helped facilitators to build rapport with the participants and also get good

and active attention from them. Meanwhile participants got clear

information about the services of FUEL for the students.

2. Career Interest Test:

As we explore career, we should know what

skills, talents and personality traits you bring to

the workplace. This assessment helped students to

understand and discover what they like and what

they dislike, what they’re good at, and how well their interest match up to

different careers.

3. Career Guidance seminar:

This is the core part of this workshop this session

mainly handled by the Mr. Kartikswami Devmane

the Program manager of FUEL, Karnataka and has

experienced in career guidance field since a year.

The session was very interactive; students were very attentive and asked

questions and clarified the doubts. In this session resource person has

covered many career options which all Arts, Science and Commerce can

appear and also the separate courses for each stream. Along with this session

we involved one more activity to make students to understand the

importance of Concentration and how we can tackle with the outside

disturbances. In this activity all were active and there

was healthy competition among the participants who all

involved in it.

4. Motivational Video:

This was the last part of the workshop. The main

theme of the video is to make participants to

understand that only having goal is not an

achievement but also we should have the passion, hard work and continuous

effort to achieve the desired goal.

 5. Printed Materials:

After the session the recourse person have provided the kit and

photocopies of reading material to all the participants. The kit which

provided to students was involved the detail information about the road map

of career and different competitive exams and contact no. of Fuel helpline

and others.

Conclusion:
One day workshop was there for the students who are all involved in the
training organized by the Vidyaposhak and participants were really good they
shown that they are hungry of education and they are capable to achieve
themselves in their life. The program which the Vidyaposhak was really wonderful
and behalf of our FUEL Team I would like to thank all the staff of Vidyaposhak
who has supported us to conduct the workshop.
