kaiju. Where they differ, use the ones in this book instead. Kaiju may not take Big, Power, or Super Powers.

Daikaiju Racial Abilities

All kaiju have:
„ Armor +30: All kaiju have scaly skin, viscous bodies, or dense flesh that acts as armor.
„ Cannot Speak: Kaiju communicate through body language, infrasound, pheromones, roars, and trills, but cannot speak
human languages (unless they have the Fully Sapient ability, below).
„ Size 16 (Gargantuan): Racial abilities and Edges may not reduce the kaiju's Size below 12 or above 20. They have Heavy
Armor, can take three additional Wounds, and their attacks (including powers) count as Heavy Weapons. Kaiju may
Stomp (see page 8).
„ Increased Damage: The creature's limbs cause Str+2d12, AP 24 damage. Claws and teeth actually pierce armor while
blunt limbs or flailing tails negate it with overwhelming force, but both negate Armor in game terms.
„ Increased Strength: Daikaiju start with d12+16 Strength with a maximum of d12+20.
„ Increased Vigor: Daikaiju start with d10 Vigor with a maximum of d12+3.

„ ARMOR PIERCING (+1/2AP): The kaiju may spend up to 10 points to increase the attack's Armor Piercing value.
Each point adds +2 AP.
„ DAMAGE (4): Increase the damage to 5d10.
3
„ MEDIUM / LARGE BLAST TEMPLATE (+2/+4): For 2 points the attack affects an area the size of a Medium Blast
Template. For 4 points the kaiju may use either a Medium or a Large Blast Template. Targets in the blast area
may Evade.
„ CONE (+0/+1): For no points, the attack must use the Cone Template, emanating from the monster. For 1 point,
the attack can switch between the Cone Template and other uses as usual. Either may be Evaded.
Bite/Claw/Horn (1): Each of these are purchased separately, and add +4 damage when used to attack. Each ability

Tentacles (1): The kaiju has two tentacle actions for 2 points, three actions for 4 points, or four for 6 points (see

Aliens: The Protostomion Consociation aren’t the only aliens on Earth. In the shadows of the world lurk hivemind
cockroaches, sapient apes from the future, mysterious near-human extraterrestrials, and the remnants of the pre-

them as soldiers in their war with Earth. More sympathetic aliens might still attempt controlling the daikaiju, but in

Hindrance, rolling this complication is a perfect excuse to bring that recurring character into play.
Humans: One of the most obvious human complications are military forces attempting to drive the daikaiju away,
but other options include a scientist who has invented a weapon capable of attacking a character’s Weakness, a Living
3 God’s worshipers, or criminals trying to harvest daikaiju organs. Terrorist organizations may have bases in prime
nesting sites or brainwave scanners they hope will bring the kaiju under their control. Human Dependents are an
obvious choice to involve in these complications.
Natural Disaster: In addition to genuine natural disasters, the Protostomions and other opponents have access to
advanced scientific machines such as weather-domination devices. In their attempts to corral daikaiju, even well-
meaning governments and scientists experiment with uncontrollable forces of nature. Natural disasters provide an
4 excellent opportunity to use other options from the Adventure Tool Kit (see Savage Worlds). A landslide or tsunami
might be evaded with a Chase or Dramatic Task. Hazards such as cold, disease, fire, heat, or radiation might threaten
a nesting site or complicate travel. An impending disaster might impel the daikaiju to resort to Social Conflict—
difficult without the ability to speak!— to drive away recalcitrant allied kaiju or human populations.
