    3 Constructions

    ANGLE BISECTIONS

    Compasses are used to create accurate constructions in geometry.

    TASK 1 Bisect angles using a ruler and a pair of compasses

    Use a pair of compasses and a ruler to bisect these angles. Use a protractor to check your work.

    TASK 2 Construction challenges

    1 Bisect straight angle ABC. You can use this technique to construct right angles and perpendicular
    lines.

    2 A student bisected JML to form JMK and KML. The original angle was erased leaving only
    KML. Use a pair of compasses and a ruler to reconstruct the original angle JML.
