The main objective of an electrician is to repair and install electrical components, such as light

switches, lights, and outlets. There are many other aspects to being an electrician but those are a

few of them. The median wage for an electrician in Minnesota is $60,040 annually. The job

outlook for electricians is 8.1% in growth for 2030, this is one of the higher outlooks in

Minnesota. There are currently around 200 electrician job openings in Minnesota. The first two

steps to become an electrician are having a highschool diploma, and getting a apprenticeship

license. Having an apprenticeship license says one is able to work with different types of

electrical tools and work independently on some job sites. The average annual pay for an

apprentice electrician is $57,300. After working 48 months of full time experience, a person will

be eligible to take a test to become a journeyman's licensed electrician. The average annual

salary for a journeyman’s electrician is $52,000 to $106,000. Later on a person can take another

test to become a master electrician and be in charge of job sites. On average, a master electrician

makes $110,000 a year. Being an electrician is a great job and will always be needed to keep the

world running, although it takes time to become a master electrician it is worth it in the long run.
