Methodology: Teaching methodology: Montessori Method
Children to do oral counting from 1 to 10 through singing on the board with
the help of flesh cads and real objects.
Start with any number song (one two buckle my shoe, one two three four
five, once I caught a fish alive).
Any of the real objects can be shown (6 pencils, 6 markers, 6 books etc.) to
the children.
Explain these are 6 pencils, 6 markers, 6 books etc.) etc.
Show flash card of number or write on board following correct formation and
explain this is the sign that means 1.
Use any of the techniques (tracing in the air, on the palm, on the table,
slate, white board, salt/sand tray, and sand paper numerals) for number
tracing.
Open up the book page. Ask students to trace the number with two fingers,
three or four times and follow the correct formation.
Monitor their work as they finish, praise neat and careful work.
Activity:
Student will watch digital resource and sing number song.
Students to trace the number, and count the pictures to associate the pictures with
the quantity and colour them into the text book.
Children to count their peers, sitting around a table from 1 to 6.
Success Criteria:
Student will be able to trace, identify and count the number ‘6’
