VISION
VISION
As the Institute Secretary for Events and Competition at the Science and
Technology Council, my vision is to create a vibrant campus atmosphere
that sparks innovation and unleashes creativity. By orchestrating exciting
events and competitions, we aim to offer students a platform to
showcase their talents and collaborate with fellow enthusiasts. Through
strategic outreach and effective management, we aspire to build
meaningful partnerships that extend beyond the confines of IIT Kanpur,
providing valuable resources to all involved. Additionally, we are
committed to automating logistics for seamless operations and ensuring
our institution's active participation in prominent national and
international competitions. Together, we will nurture talent, foster
growth, and elevate the Science and Technology Council to new heights.

Professor Lecture and Restructuring Prep Camp Inter IIT &SnT Open
Talk Series House
1.SnT Portal
● Developing a Centralised Portal for the council.
● This portal would have an option for credential based login for entities.
● Features would include having customized dashboard for each entities where total budget
and used budget would be visible.One would also have option to add/remove inventory,add
up bills,MoUs and proposals of the entity.Here inventory of other entity would be visible in
case someone request to borrow (just request!!!).
● We would have it linked to current gymkhana calendar.
● Also currently we don’t have various SG forms at a place,here we could have forms for
various purpose at a place
● Booking for various workspace such as SL,MPR could be requested through this with proper
date and timing.This would also prevent clash and availability would be in knowledge of all.
● Homepage of it would have event widget where all the upcoming and past events would be
visible to all.
● Here one would be able to register,access resources,view schedule and any other
information specific to event.
2.Centralized Feedback System

● I am proposing a centralised Feedback system for events conducted by the entities.

● Currently it is not been ensured that the how events conducted by council entities are
perceived and by what exact means they can improve and incorporate the suggestion of
intended audience.
● In the centralised SnT portal,We would be adding option for an anonymous feedback
pertaining to that event only visible to council heads and heads of that particular entity.
● This would maintain a check in the working and conduction of the events and thus will help in
evaluation of the entity in mid term and end term report.
3.SnT Expo

● Here aim is to Showcase SnT work to campus junta and outside entities.
● Tentatively this would be conducted along with techkriti (preferably in collaboration) and
with SPO samvardhan fest (if conducted) to reach out to companies for collaboration and
project.
● Objective would be to increase SnT outreach which will thereby bring more projects and
sponsorship relevant to council entities.
● An additional thing which i am planning to touch upon by this is to call upon fresher batch
during the expo (with allotted slots) since here they would get opportunity to explore entities
and can discuss their stuff, thus can make choice during the secretary recruitment.
4.Professor Lecture and talk series

● Here this is something which i would be suggesting and recommending to the upcoming core
team.The idea behind this is to conduct some sort of talk event by prof on various domain
which we touch here in the council.
● Though it seems that this should taken by each entity, I would be ensuring this is being done
by them.
● In case (which might be highly likely) that entities are not able to approach professor or are
able to onboard them,the council would make sure to help them out with this process.
● This kind of event conducted would provide great opportunity for enthusiasts of that
domain as along with knowledge inculcated this would also be a great networking
opportunity.
5.Restructuring Prep Camp
● This current tenure we seen the introduction of prep camp which had it’s own pros and cons
with views varying a lot depending on domain and entity.
● I propose to restructure prep camp since it’s a really great initiative to develop the the core
group of people with good grasp in particular domain of interest.
● By taking up the feedback from this tenure conduction of it,we would be planning it up with a
little flexibility depending on the domain since intensity of the camp depends a lot on which
exact domain we are planning.
Some of the changes I propose:
● Rescheduling the no. of meets from daily to biweekly basis (for all domain meet)
● Taking up well made proposal by the mentor (domain wise) with plan,No. Of meets,target of
the camp and how are they dealing with case of burn out of those involved.
● Proper Feedback opportunity for various mentors to give us as well as mentee to let their
mentors know the difficulties and shortcoming if any.
● Participation in Other competition (i.e SIH) as to take up the advantage of this training.
● Making the recruitment process flexible and more visible to motivate and attract all the
enthusiastic people (like announcement through discord,mail etc…)
6.Inter IIT & SnT Open House

● I am proposing here the SnT Open House in the coming tenure twice in the tenure.
● Once this would be held at around early to late september before the commencement of
Inter IIT.
● Purpose of this would be to address the upcoming plan of Inter IIT tech meet along with
tentative domain.
● Here this could be followed up by the release of problem statement (with proper Objective
and evaluation metric) given for a short period of time.Those selected through this could be
taken up for mentorship an session focussed on Inter IIT as the PS come.
● The second open house would be conducted after mid sem break of even semester with
public felicitation of those who taken part in the Inter IIT and podium winners (preferably in
presence of Deans and FacAd)
