Hepatitis, inflammation of the liver that results from a variety of causes, both infectious and non-infectious. Infectious agents
that cause hepatitis include viruses and parasites. Noninfectious causes include certain drugs and toxic agents.
There are types of hepatitis: Hepatitis A & B. Hepatitis A virus can cause acute liver disease, but can heal within a few months.
