● Noli Me Tangere Is a Latin phrase which means "Touch Me Not" It is not originally
conceived by Rizal, for he admitted taking it from the Bible. Noli Me Tangere words
taken from the Gospel of Saint Luke, signifÿ "do not touch me".

The effect of the banning of Noli in the Philippines


-made the book more popular and everybody wanted to read it
- Increased Awareness: "Noli Me Tangere" exposed the injustices and abuses of the
Spanish colonial government and the friar orders in the Philippines. It raised awareness
among Filipinos about the oppressive conditions they were living under.
- It caused an uproar among the friars
-Sparked Nationalism: The novel ignited a sense of nationalism and patriotism among
Filipinos. It inspired them to unite and seek reforms and independence from Spanish rule

Rizal had not .
-Brussels is to under the Belguim while Madrid is to Spain- who have beenrizal travelling
abroad to promote the region

Rizal.
