Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University was established by an act passed by the parliament (No. 58 of 1994). The University came into existence on
10.01.1996 vide GOI, Ministry of HRD, Education Department Notification No. 8-16/GOI/desk/U-1 dated 05.01.1996. The basic philosophy and policies of
the University are spelt out and enshrined in the University Act and Statutes. The University offers graduate and post- graduate students the knowledge and
skills needed to succeed as persons and professionals with values and sensitivity necessary to serve the society. The University distinguishes itself as a socially
responsible learning community of high quality scholarship and academic rigor sustained by social justice and equity principles for which Babasaheb Bhimrao
Ambedkar worked during his lifetime. The University draws from the cultural, intellectual and economic resources of Uttar Pradesh and other states to enrich
and strengthen its educational programs.
The University is preparing students from rural mainland of Uttar Pradesh, and all parts of India in general, often coming from marginalized sections for
leadership in a complex world.
It offers the kind of education needed through various inclusive, society-oriented programs for transforming our country in the disciplines of – Humanities
and Sciences, Engineering, Agriculture, Biotechnology, Business, Law, Education and Environmental Sciences – through a breadth of highly regarded degree
programs that allow students the freedom to explore their intellectual and personal growth. The faculty members at our University accept their responsibilities
conscientiously, share leadership in a democratic spirit, and maintain subject to the highest standards of public trust. University offers 99 courses that include
Diploma/integrated PG Programmes/UG/PG and Ph.D.at its main campus and satellite centre at Amethi.
The University strives to fulfill the objectives of its inception. There is a special provision of 50 percent reservation in all courses for the students of
Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribes. Now with the government directives, the University also offers 10 percent seats reserved for the Economically Weaker
Section. The University also provides fee exemption for the students of the Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribes in regular courses. The University also provides
financial assistance to the Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe students for their dissertation and thesis preparation. The University also has a satellite center
at Amethi, started in the year of 2016. The University has a fully air conditioned and well-furnished Central Library namely Gautam Buddha Library having
more than 50 thousand books and 10 thousand online journals along with Departmental Libraries in the respective departments to cater the demand of the
students pursuing studies in the University. The University has one health Centre with availability of doctor round the clock and provides residential facilities
for the students and faculties too. For the overall development of the students, University has a Centre for the Personality Development with Residential
Coaching Programme (RCP), Remedial Coaching Academy (RCA) and Dr. Ambedkar Center of Excellence.

Vision-
The vision of the University is “To be a dynamic, creative and competitive Centre of Excellence in advanced knowledge, especially relevant for the
development of the nation and of the socially, educationally and economically marginalized sections of the people”.
In the coming years, BBAU will be taking up a range of other activities designed to further preserve our environment; provide learning experiences
surpassing cultured linguistic and geographical boundaries making our socially and ethically responsible global citizens. The University has designed a roadmap

to achieve excellence, in making learner centre education through collaborations, and rigorous training promising employability for our graduates the strategic
initiatives of Universities includes major focus on emerging global educational trends fair and sustainable human development and creation of knowledge
base society which is ready to face the unforeseen challenges of tomorrow’s world. The University also plans to own a radio station for the dissemination of
community oriented information, education and knowledge.
New initiatives undertaken by the University are towards improving infrastructure, campus development, the welfare of the faculties and students,
empowerment of women and weaker sections, creation of sports, health and other facilities, establishing new hostels for student, initiating innovation in
academic and extra-curricular activities. The University is making serious efforts to attract the students from other countries. In this direction, an International
student center has been created which will work exclusively for the international students and their Hassel free admission. An office of Dean R&D has been
established to promote collaborations, consultancy services based on principals of public private partnership. These endeavors of University are surely going
to earn laurels for the University.

Mission of the University-


• To promote advanced knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities in such branches of learning as it may deem fit.
• To make provisions for integrated courses in science and key frontier areas of Technology and other allied disciplines in the educational programmes of the University
• To offer appropriate courses relevant for the development of socially and economically depressed section soft he people including agricultural technology and rural crafts
• To promote the study of the principles for which Dr. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar stood and worked during his life time, namely, national integration, social justice and
democratic way of life
• To promote the study of the constitution of the world and to take appropriate measures for promoting innovations in teaching learning processes in inter-disciplinary studies
and research
• To pay special attention for the promotion of educational and economic interest and welfare of the people in general and of members belonging to Schedule Caste and
Schedule Tribe in particular by providing an adequate percentage of seats for the main admission.

MESSAGE FROM THE VICE-CHANCELLOR


Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow has become an ensemble of a multi-layered educational system
in myriad disciplines which covers different aspects of teaching and research in various UG and PG Departments including,
Ph.D. programmes. We attract the brightest young minds from all over the country. They use the supporting and innovative
research space provided by BBAU to actualize their potential.
We at BBAU firmly believe and practice the dictum “Pragya Sheel Karuna” the logo of the University and strive to prepare
students to become better citizens of our country irrespective of their cultural and financial moorings and contribute to the
welfare of society and development of country. BBAU has been on the path of delivering quality education by developing
young human resources on the foundation of ethical and moral values while boosting their leadership qualities, research
culture and innovative skills.
Built on a sprawling 250 acres of lush green campus, this ‘temple of learning’ has excellent state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities conducive
to higher teaching-learning environment and research. The main objective of the University is to provide higher education of global standards
and hence, all the curricular programs are designed to meet international standards. Highly experienced and qualified faculty members, are
continuously engaged in the maintenance and enhancement of a student-centric learning environment through innovative pedagogy, which
forms the backbone of the University.
In recent years, BBAU, Lucknow has made significant strides. It got NAAC Accreditation in first cycle with Grade ‘A’ and has been ranked
consistently at a higher pedestal by various ranking frameworks. In 2021 National Rankings the University has been ranked at 65th position
in top 100 universities in India. Even we have started taking steps to gear up to participate in the world rankings. The University has been
benchmarking its teaching and research processes by increasing its interface with foreign educational institutions through strategic MOUs for
faculty and student exchange, joint research, joint conference and joint publication. International visibility of the University is being given top
priority. We are constantly striving to boost quality education and draw the best academic and research personnel to the University. We are
encouraging entrepreneurship and innovation on the campus by partnering with Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry(DICCI) and EDI,
Ahmedabad and facilitating campus recruitments and consistently striving to connect our students to the world.
The move towards inter-disciplinary research has opened up several options as well as created multiple challenges before the nation. At this
juncture where young students are opting for global standard education, the major focus should be on creating a platform for quality knowledge
and bridging the gap between academia and industry.

It is a matter of great pride and privilege to be the Head of this esteemed University that prepares students to meet the challenges of the
present day society. This has become possible with the untiring efforts of our University fraternity who have excellent academic conscience. Most
of the Faculty members of the University are involved in research by attracting funded projects from various research organizations like UGC,
CSIR, ICSSR, DST, DBT, AICTE and industries. The outcome of the research is passed on to the students through live training and projects. The
entrepreneurial zeal of the students is encouraged and nurtured through Entrepreneurial training.

Important Instruction
• An applicant can apply for three (03) Test Papers by paying application fee as mentioned above.
• An applicant can further apply for additional Test Papers by paying additional application fees of Rs. 200/-(General applicants) or Rs. 150/- (OBC-NCL/Gen-EWS/
SC/ST/Third Gender/PwBD Applicants) per Test Paper for PG Programmes.
• Candidates opting for Test Centres outside India will have to pay application fee of Rs. 4000/- irrespectiveof the category they belong to for upto three Test
Papers.
• Further, for applying for additional Test Papers a fee of Rs. 1000/- per additional paper has to be paid.
• The candidate has to choose English or Hindi language for Section A only.

II. The Confirmation Page of the online Application Form will be generated only after successful payment of the fee by the Candidate. In case the
Confirmation Page is not generated after payment of fee, then the candidate may have to approach the concerned Bank/Payment Gateway (in the
helpline numbers and email given in Appendix- II of NTA brochure available on https://cuet.nta.nic.in/) for ensuring the successful payment or for
obtaining the refund of duplicate /multiple payments.

All eligible applicants desire to seek admission to courses of the Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow for the academic session
2022-23 must apply to the CUET (PG) - 2022 and read this information bulletin and admission prospectus carefully.

Reservation Policy
The reservation policy to be followed for admission in Academic Session 2022-23 shall be as per the provisions of the academic ordinance
Chapter- VII (clause 9) which states “for the purposes of admission to all courses of study in the university, 50% of the seats shall be reserved for
Scheduled caste/Scheduled tribes (SC/ST) students”. Further, 10% seats shall be reserved for Economically Weaker Sections (EWSs) for admissionsin
the University as per the letter of MHRD, F.No.19-4/2019-CU.CDN dated 23.01.2019.

The University has a dedicated Office for International Affairs to handle all inquiries regarding the admission of admitting foreign candidates.

General Information & Admission Policy


1. The merit list for the unreserved category seats will comprise all the candidates in the order of merit including candidates under reserved category if they come
in the unreserved merit. A candidate under reserved category, who figures in the unreserved merit list, is entitled to be considered for admission under the
unreserved category. Admission to open category seats will be strictly in the order of merit without excluding candidates belonging to reserved category.
2. Paid Seats are offered in some of the PG programmes. Admission to paid seats will be strictly in order of merit and willingness of the candidate following
prescribed reservation criteria of the University. However, in case, seats remain vacant under any reserved category under the paid seats the same may be
converted to open category subject to availability of willing candidates. Further, no concession of fees is available to any candidate irrespective of his/her
category who takes admission under paid seats.

Rules and Regulations


1. Each student is required to sign a declaration regarding discipline and conduct as per provisions of the Act & Statutes of the University.
2. The admission is liable to be canceled if any information/any document provided by the candidate is found to be fake. Strict disciplinary action shall be taken
against such candidates as per University rules.
3. The University reserves the right to change or modify the rules and regulations of the admission test and/or alter the number of seats allocated to each course
of study.
4. On being selected for counseling, the selected candidates shall have to submit the self-attested copies/original of following documents on or before the last
date prescribed for the purpose:
5. Mark Sheet/Grade Sheet of the qualifying degree course (self-attested).
6. Character Certificate from the Dean/Head/Principal of the University/Institution last attended (in original).
7. Migration Certificate from the competent authority of the University/Institution last attended, on or before 30.09.2023 (in original).
8. SC/ST/PwD/Kashmiri Migrant/NRI Certificate issued by the Competent Authority (self-attested). Candidates shall bring all the original certificates/documents
for verification.
9. The percentage of marks in the qualifying examination shall be read without rounding off the percentage.
10. Merely appearing in the Entrance Test does not entitle a candidate to claim admission for any course.
11. Candidates against whom any disciplinary action has been taken at any stage in his/her earlier academic career shall not be admitted to any course in this
University.

12. Enrollment of a student in any course of the University shall stand cancelled if candidate is held guilty of any cognizable offence. Enrollment may also be
cancelled if candidate conduct is found guilty by the University.
13. The University reserves the right to make any changes/ modifications in the provisions made in this prospectus.
14. No candidates shall be entitled to claim admission as a matter of right.
15. The University reserves the right to close any of the following courses/programmes, if number of applicants are less than 60% of the total sanctioned seats:

Fees for students applying in above courses will be refunded, however University may take a decision to start one of any course/program out of above said
courses in spite of less admission (less than 60%) on the basis of various aspects (Financial, teaching strength in the department etc.).
16. University may increase/decrease the seats of any course/programme.
17. The Departments of the University may ask the candidates concerned, wherever necessary, to get recognition/equivalence of their degrees/ diplomas/
certificates authenticated from the Association of Indian Universities/University Grants Commission/AICTE/Council of Boards of School Education in India
(COBSE)/PCI/BCI on his/her own for the purpose of admission in the Department. Further, the cases of equivalence of degrees/certificates/diploma may
then be put up before the University Authorities for further consideration and confirmation. However, the Certificates/Diplomas/Degrees already recognized/
equated by the University may not be referred for further verification.
18. University will not entertain any sort of claim regarding change in score.
19. One Supernumerary seat shall be available for the daughter/son of defense martyrs personnel in the Under Graduate (U.G.)/Post Graduate (P.G.) courses
except courses which are governed by the BCI, PCI, NCTE & AICTE etc.
20. The University reserves the right to revise, amend, update or delete any part of this Prospectus without giving any prior notice.
21. Applicants are responsible for regularly checking the portal for any updates and grievances resulting from lack of reading/consulting this prospectus will not be

University Facilities
Computer Centre-
Presently University has a Computer Centre equipped with computers and internet facilities under the infonet program of UGC scheme,
which is open for all. The University is also connected with National Knowledge Network (NKN).

Health Care-
The University provides health services through medical consultants to all the students, administrative staff, faculty members and subordinate
staff of the University including boys’ hostel and girls’ hostel for the residential students of the University. University has also established Yoga
and Wellness centre with the help of state government to provide alternative health care with dedicated instructors/consultants to all the staff
and students.

Student Counseling Centre-


The student counseling centre at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow was established in 2016 to offer support services to
its students. This centre has been involved in providing individual counseling and developmental group activities including workshops for the
students of the University. The counselor is available at the centre to help the students in their day to day issues which further lead to improve
their overall performance. In order to extend support to the students, different workshops on relevant topics are regularly organized by the
counselor and team of experts. The services offered by the counseling centre are exclusively offered to the students of the University and in the
course of offering services the confidentiality is being maintained by the centre, wherever applicable.

Information & Guidance Bureau (I & GB)-


In order to build their career, students need to know what the options available to them are and where and how they can achieve it. It is
committed to do the needful for the benefit of the students.
The main function of the Bureau is to disseminate the employment information for various courses offered by the University. The students
are explained about various job opportunities and schemes of competitive examinations and about higher education in India and abroad. Tasks
of the bureau are to conduct career workshops where eminent personalities from different walks of life address the students, collect and display
various career related information, provide handbooks of foreign universities, newspapers, bulletin of sister bureau, employment news and other

professional information for the reference of students. Further, it is also to render vocational guidance to the students individually or in group and
to collect and disseminate information related to training facilities, financial assistance available in India and abroad.
LAN/Wi-Fi-
Most buildings in the University such as Administrative Block, Departments, Hostels, and some residential quarters in the campus are fully
equipped with LAN facility. The state of the art Wi-Fi connectivity across the campus provides high-speed internet.

Library-
The Gautam Buddha Central library is housed in a separate huge library building and fulfills its objective to supplement educational and
information needs of the faculty and students through its books and periodical sections having adequate reading rooms, journals and video
library. It is equipped to facilitate visually handicapped students as well. The library services are also extended to non-teaching staff and visitors.
It has adequate collection to satisfy the information need of the user.

Guest House-
The guest house of the University is located within the University campus and is providing round the clock boarding and lodging services to
guests. Guest house rooms are allotted to University guests free of cost and to other state or central govt. organizations, universities, public sector
undertakings on request, subject to availability, on payment. However, first priority is given to the University activities.

Mess /Canteen-
The mess facility is available in the University in all the hostels. A canteen is also running in the campus during working days which is open
for all.
University Placement Cell (UPC)-
Since its inception, the cell is helping the students to be placed in various organizations across India and abroad. The UPC is dedicated to
support the students in their pursuit to get jobs in reputed organizations in India and abroad. Placement cell also regularly organizes specialized
lectures, workshops and job fairs to provide students a platform to showcase their talents.

SC/ST Cell-
The staff of the SC/ST cell is actively engaged in coordinating and solving the problems in the matter of admissions in the University, utilization
and timely disbursement of scholarships, accommodation in hostels, conduct of remedial coaching, UGC-NET coaching, competitive examination
coaching and other measures with a view to see that the education system succeeds in bringing the Schedule Castes and Scheduled Tribes to a
level quantitatively as well as qualitatively at par with the rest of the society. The cell is also instrumental in monitoring the implementation of
rule of reservation for SC/ST in admission and appointments on teaching as well as non-teaching posts. Further a Gold Medal also is awarded to
topper among the SC/ST students.

Coaching Centre For SC/ST/Minorities-


The University offers the following programmes for the development of SC/ST and minority students.
1. UGC Remedial Coaching Programme (RCP): Under RCP, additional coaching is provided to the students who face difficulties in learning the subject concerned
and English language. In addition, it conducts classes for personality development.
2. UGC NET Coaching Programme: It offers special coaching for joint CSIR–UGC NET examinations which are being conducted twice a year.
3. Residential Coaching Academy: This Programme offers special coaching for Civil Services (IAS/IPS/IFS), State Services, SSC, RRB and other competitive
examinations which are being conducted by the Central and State Governments.

Sports-
A healthy person keeps a healthy and active mind and sports are the best mechanism to accomplish that objective. The University, being
sensitive for the overall development of students, realizes that a balance in physical, mental and emotional growth is essential for the complete
development of personality.
At present, the University has a multipurpose sports ground in the campus having facilities like Football, Volleyball, Cricket, athletics etc.
In addition, there is an indoor Gymnasium equipped with all modern facilities for physical training. Indoor games like Badminton, Table Tennis,
Chess, and Carom facilities are available. All the games, indoor and outdoor, are facilitated by experts and trainers. University is sure that these
facilities would instill in students a sense of confidence besides physical fitness. It would help them in becoming a complete human being so that
they can withstand the challenges of life.

University Science Instrumentation Centre (USIC) -


As per the UGC’s mandate, University has established University Sophisticated Instruments Centre (USIC) as central facility. In fact, the
creation of such a center is becoming obligatory for every University for the reason that the modern day science demands the use of precision
equipment’s for the acceptability of data. Such centres help stop duplication of sophisticated equipment, which cost huge amount sand in turn
help in-regulating the use of the sanctioned money in the most judicious way. This is housed on the ground floor of the School for Environmental
Sciences building. USIC has four precision equipments:
1. Scanning Electron Microscope, (SEM, Model JSM-6490LV of JEOL, and Japan) with EDX facility and two preparatory units, viz., Critical Point Dryer and Ion
Sputter Coater;
2. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer with ATR-Attenuated Total Reflectance (FT-IR Spectrometer, Model Nicolet TM 6700 OF Thermo
3. Scientific, USA);
4. Fast Performance Liquid Chromatography (FPLC, Model EKTA 10 of GE Healthcare Bioscience. Sweden).
5. X-ray Diffractometer (XRD, Model: D8 Advance Eco, Bruker, Singapore) has been procured and is under regular use in USIC.
6. Purchases of Inverted Laser Scanning Confocal Microscope from Carl Zeiss India (Bangalore) Pvt. Ltd. And Preparatory HPLC from Spinco Biotech Pvt. Ltd are
under final stage.

Women Cell And Day Care Centre-


The University is doing a lot of work towards gender equality. As a path breaking decision, a provision of gender budgeting has been made on
BBAU financial road map. Gender budgeting basically means that a part of the budget will be set aside for gender specific activities.
The University has basic facilities for the women employees and girl students including a day care center in the campus.

National Cadet Corps (NCC) And National Services Scheme (NSS)-


Training in NCC instills qualities like nationalism, patriotism, discipline, team spirit, spirit-de-corps, leadership and self-confidence and
promotes over all personality development. NCC gives a tremendous support to one and all for betterment, irrespective of caste, creed, religion
or economic status. Based on the aims of NCC, the syllabi for the Senior Wing/Division cadets cover a period of three years.
