The water system for the City of Hughes Springs, Texas issued a notice rescinding their previous boil water notice. On February 12th, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the city to issue a boil water notice due to issues with water pressure, disinfectant levels, or bacteriological quality. Corrective actions have since been taken and test results provided to the commission show the water is now safe for consumption without boiling as of February 14th. The notice applies to city water customers located between Newby Street and the Wildflower Inn.

On February 12, 2024, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality
(TCEQ) required our public water system for City of Hughes Springs, PWS ID # 0340003 to issue a Boil Water Notice (BWN) to inform our customers that due to an interruption in service, water from our system must be boiled prior to consumption.
Our system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore
adequate pressure, disinfectant levels, and/or bacteriological quality and has provided TCEQ with testing results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling as of February 14, 2024.
This boil water rescind notice is for City water customers located in the affected area from Newby Street going East to the Wildflower Inn.
