INTRODUCTION
In the exploration of philosophy, countless thinkers have pondered
the nature of the self and its role in our existence. From the ancient
wisdom of Socrates and Plato to the modern perspectives of
Descartes, Locke, Hume, and Kant, and even into the intricacies of
the mind presented by Freud, Ryle, Churchland, and the embodied
philosophy of Merleau-Ponty, the concept of the self has been a
central point of contemplation and debate.

INTRODUTION
In the modern world, our sense of self is shaped by various factors,
including society's influence, our interactions with others, and the labels placed
upon us. It also explores the development of the self in contemporary society
and the theories that help us understand this process. We will delve into George
Herbert Mead's social self theory, which discusses the "I" and "me" aspects of
our identity. Additionally, we'll explore the concept of the "looking-glass self,"
which highlights how our self-concept is influenced by the perceptions of others.
