Honorable chair, Esteemed Delegates,

The delegate of Palestine is delighted to be part of this Mun session. He hopes

that his fellow delagtes will engage in relevant debate to make the conference
successful
The Middle East grapples with a complex tapestry of tensions rooted in historical
conflicts, territorial disputes, and geopolitical rivalries. The enduring Palestinian-Israeli
conflict remains the backbone of regional instability, hindering peace and development
efforts. Moreover, armed conflicts, terrorism, and external interventions exacerbate
these challenges. Over 5 million Palestinians endure Israeli occupation, with settlements
hindering the viability of a Palestinian state. Gaza faces dire conditions, with a blockade
leading to staggering unemployment rates and restricted access to essential services.
According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs
(OCHA), over 5 million Palestinians are registered as refugees, many living in
overcrowded camps. The Gaza Strip, home to approximately 2 million Palestinians,
suffers from an unemployment rate of 49%, among the highest globally, as reported by
the World Bank. Access to healthcare, education, and clean water is severely restricted.
Regional conflicts exacerbate these tensions. Syria's civil war, ongoing for over a decade,
has caused immense suffering, with over half a million dead and millions displaced.
Yemen's humanitarian crisis worsens, driven by a protracted conflict and facing famine
and disease. Libya's fragmentation fuels violence and human rights abuses. Addressing
these issues requires comprehensive strategies.
