Drafting this research proposal has been an enlightening journey, teaching me much about

myself and the research process.

I've come to understand my strengths and areas for improvement in managing extensive
projects. Time management emerged as a critical skill I honed throughout this process.
Initially, I struggled to allocate my time efficiently between research, writing, and reviewing
literature. However, as I progressed, I developed a structured schedule that allowed me to
focus on each task more effectively, enhancing my productivity and ensuring a balanced
approach to my work.

Language skills, especially in academic writing, were another area I found challenging.
Crafting arguments that are coherent and backed by evidence required a level of precision
and clarity I had not previously mastered. Engaging with a wide range of academic sources
improved my understanding of the academic language and the importance of articulating my
thoughts clearly and concisely. I've recognized the need to continue refining these skills,
particularly in synthesizing complex ideas into accessible prose.

One of the most important skills I learned was to quote and cite sources correctly. At first, I
did not give enough credit to the role of proper referencing, but I soon recognized its
significance in establishing the credibility of my arguments and respecting intellectual
property. This experience has really taught me the value of meticulousness and thoroughness
when it comes to academic honesty.

The process was a case in point of these skills, critical thinking and analytical capabilities,
which proved to be undeniably vital. I conducted a research-based comparison, discovering
the best strategies among them, which enhanced my ability to think critically. The self-
assessment helped me understand my command over skills such as in time management,
language, and critical thinking, however the areas for growth are still present. This
dissertation is not only an opportunity to improve my academic writing and analysis skills but
also to confirm how much I have learned from the whole program. The involvement with
literature, asking for feedback from peers and instructors, and the daily writing exercises are
all very significant. I also want to improve my organizational skills in order to be able to take
care of bigger tasks in a timely manner.
