THE COMPARISON BETWEEN THE FIRST VISAYAN MAN&WOMAN AND THE STO NIÑO OF

CEBU

1.) How would you compare the two stories? In what ways they similar? Different?
- I'd compare them based on how they began, what occurred, why it happened, and where it
happened. They are comparable in that both stories reveal how their roots began. They both describe how
they came to be and how they work.

2.) In this stories, how would you describe the relationship between humans and the supernatural? How
would do the human, characters, interact with divine beings?
- If I were to explain the two stories, I would say that the human-supernatural interaction is
surprising and stunning. I was astounded by how they managed to communicate with otherworldly
beings. People engage by drawing on their past experiences, origins, and other personal details.

3.) What would the stories say about the beliefs and values of the Cebuano speaking people?
- The stories provide a message about the beliefs and values of Cebuano speakers.
"Espirituhanon"—belief in God, spiritual creatures, and life beyond death; "Garbo"—the dignity and
pride with which the Cebuano guards his or her sense of self-esteem; and "Lumadnon"—love for one's
family, origin, and community.

4.) This stories prove that Cebu has a nice religion and spiritual tradition. What important events
happened in history of Cebu pertaining to the growth of religion? Support by citing another history
research.
- Another significant event that contributed to the establishment of Christianity was the
presentation of the infant Jesus by the Portuguese adventurer Ferdinand Magellan to the Rajah Humabon
of Cebu in 1521. This was one of the most significant events in Philippine religious history, as it cleared
the way for the establishment of Christianity in the nation.
