1. What is Literature? Writing that employs aesthetic form and expression is referred to be
literature and is valued or deemed significant. Literature is a term used in the arts to describe
written works including poems, short stories, biographies, memoirs, and essays.

2. What are the importance of studying Literature? Students who study literature get an
understanding of the value of language and its impact. Through the texts they read, kids journey
to many eras and worlds. They are aware of both their own and other cultures. They get the
ability to identify with characters' joys and suffering.

4. Differentiate the types of literature according to form and content.


A poem is a work of writing that conveys meaning through the use of the rhythmic aspects of
language, such as phonesthetics, sound symbolism, and meter.
Fiction can be used to entertain, inspire, inform, and persuade readers, among other things.
Fiction writers use their imagination to come up with stories.
Nonfiction using real events, people, locations, or facts, nonfiction writing seeks to educate or
inspire the reader.
Dramas are spoken word and performance-based representations of fiction. Novels, lyric poetry,
and epic poetry are all examples of dramatic literature.
The literary form of prose lacks a formal metrical pattern. It relies on a natural flow of words and
common grammatical structure rather than rhythmic framework, as in traditional poetry.

characters, place, story, conflict, point of view, and theme. Characters in a story can be
humans, animals, or aliens. Through what they say, what they believe, and how they behave,
readers get to know the characters.
