Written Assignment – Write an email to a close friend of yours who has moved to another city.
You haven´t talked to this friend for one year, so you need to share what is going on in your
life.

Title: A message for an old friend

Dear Tomas how are you? Do you remember me? We worked together around 2011 in an
engineering company. At that time we were in some trouble about work and family. Where
are you working now? I´m working for a Canadian company called SNC in Brazil. The job didn´t
change but the workplace is so better that I can´t believe. I have so much to learn there.

About my family, nothing had changed. Everybody is fine. I´m looking for an apartment for
rent, but is so difficult to find it in Rio de Janeiro. Everything is so expensive! Maybe I´m going
to look for something in another city like Teresópolis, a little pretty city located about one, two
hours away from Rio de Janeiro.

With the new job, I work eight hours per day, not ten hours anymore. Now I can spend my free
hours with study. So I entered in a MBA last year. The subject is so interesting, project
management. I hope that it can be useful for my profession.

That´s all my friend, hope that everything is fine with you and your family! I´m waiting for the
news!
