Word association test.

Depth analysis

Expressive behavior.

Out of all this technique popular are personality inventories and projective test mostly used.

Some of the important methods of personalty assessment are:-

1. questionnaire:-
In personality analysis mainly questionnaire provide is yes, no, not sure questions. By using

this personality trait analysis.

The famous questionnaire are:-

Personality data sheet.

Alloport’s ascendance submissive reaction study.

Bells adjustment inventories

Minnesota multiphase personality etc are some standard personality questionnaires and

inventories of personality

Advantages:-

• It could be used in various situation.

• Without specific training teachers could use questionnaires in their classroom.

• Questionnaire could be administered on many, at a time

• Questionnaire could be easily prepared and administered.WAIS is a point scale not

like binet age scale. Her depend upon performance point scored.

Limitation of personality questionnaire:-

• Personality trait may not reveal to real personality trait as usually subject do not tick

the negative aspect.

• This method is highly subjective and hence response could not be cross checked.

• A subject provide responses without being aware of himself then the questionnaire may

not have construct validity.

2. . Interviews :-
In interview tester and subject are directly involved. In which examiner can identify the

personality trait of subject by answer and way of expression of subject.

3. Rating scale:-

Experimenter judge the personality of subject in 5 points of rating scale they are +2 (very

high), +1 (high), 0 (average), -1 (low), -2 (very low).

Rating may be self rating and experimental rating, experimenter rating is more perfect,

accurate than self rating. By comparing personality profile with individual particular

profession we can predict when the individual will succeed if he chosen that

profession.

4. Projective technique:-

It strives to get at the fundamental organization of personality. By using (relatively

ambiguous unstructured stimuli) such as vague picture, ink blots, incomplete sentences,

drawing. By using this we can predict his wish and personality.

a. Rorschach ink blot test:-

In this method, 10 cards are there, each card consist of ink blot figure. In which 5 is colored

and 5 black and white. Introduce one in one time. And ask what you are seeing in the

picture or it will provide any remembrance. It having no time limit. And also note the

reaction of the subject during watching the picture.

b. Thematic appreception test (TAT):-

Introducing a picture to the subject and tell him to make a story on the basis of the picture.

The subject will write his own story and in this way predict the personality.

c. Free association test:-

CG Jung identify this in which experimenter tell a sentence which should be completed by

subject. By predicting this identify the personality.

Productivity:-

These relay on the performance of the subject like what he draw and what object he makes

eg plastic clay.

Salient feature of projective tests:-

The items of projective tests are unfamiliar to the subjects. Further the subjects may not

know what type of responses are to be given or generally expected. Hence there is no

chance for subject to hide his real feelings and often responses.

The purpose of these tests are not known to the subject. They are generally informed that

the tests assess the imagination or the artistic abilities of the subject.

This test not need necessary that the subject need idea to explain his personality.

Total responses of subject we canable to note.

Important point:-
Teacher need to be familiar with rating scale, questionnaire and personality technique of

interviews for educational, vocational and personal guidance to students. Some mind

personality disturbances also should know by a good teacher.
