ANALYZING SUNRISE TEXTBOOK BASED ON THE FOLLOWING CHECKLIST:
1- What grammar items are Included?

1-Alphabet,verb to be, verb to have

2- Present continues,

3- verb to be: affirmative, negative.

4-Verb to be + adjective ,
5- There is…/ there are…

6- Where…?questions prepositions

7-Verb to have: affirmative

8-Present continues affirmativ: he/she/it
9-Present continues negative: he/she/it
10-Present continues negative: They
11- Present continues questions: Is he/she/it

12- Present continues questions: Are you/Are they…?

13-Possessive adjectives: My/Your /Our

14-Possessive adjectives: his/her/their
15-What day? And what time? Questions
2- Do they correspond to students' language needs?

-Yes, because according to their level and age these grammatical items are suitable
for third grade students.

3- Are they presented in small enough units for easy learning?

-No, they are not presented in small units. they are presented in a random way in
the texts and exercises.

4- Is there an emphasis on language form?

-No, there are no such things explained for how to use adjectives, adverbs and all
items related to grammar in a specific way.

5- Is there an emphasis on language use (meaning)?

-yes, for example we have in unit 3,Lesson 2

The boy that says ‘Im a doctor’ and he is wearing doctors clothes, also same with
the firefighters.

6- How balanced is the treatment of form and use?

-they explained the form by directly using it and showing pictures.

7- Where one grammatical form has more than one meaning (e.g. the present
continuous), are all relevant meanings taught (not necessarily together)?
-yes, they included all the relevant meanings, for example we have present
continuous they teach all the things related to this topic like: affirmative, negative,
questions.
