My Thoughts

I think in general this book uses enough grammar items for the fifth-grade students. It is
appropriate for their age. Firstly, structures are used in several sentences for the students to
see. Secondly, they see diverse ways to use these words to say the same things. And thirdly,
they use this knowledge in an activity to see how much they learned. And except for the last
checklist item, everything looks okay. Grammar items that are used in this book are from
MEB curriculum for the fifth grade. So, they are suitable for 11-year-olds, and they
correspond to their language needs. The grammar items are in small units to teach easily, and
they are near or above the related grammar activities. And usually, the grammar activities are
integrated to vocabulary activities. There is emphasis on language form and use. Also, the
newly introduced grammar items are usually related to previous grammar items that were
taught. In this way kids learn easier, and they get to use their prior knowledge. In conclusion,
this book is sufficient about teaching grammar to young learners, and it teaches them in a fun
way by not filling them with a lot of information that will bore them.
