Greetings on behalf of The Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce. I am Harrison L. Blair and I serve
as President & CEO of the Chamber, and I am providing information on behalf of one of our
volunteers, Ryann Jordan. Ryann successfully volunteered with many of our projects during the
week of October 11th – December 14th, 2023 where she donated over 30 plus community
service hours. I was impressed with Ryann’s tenacity in helping with our community service
projects. Thus, helping to make our events a huge success and helping small businesses who
couldn’t afford professional marketing services.

The Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce offers a primary focus in these three areas where
Ryann assisted during her time with us:

• Economic Development: Worked directly with small businesses to help them with a
marketing strategy and helped them create marketing materials to get their businesses
seen on their social media platforms.

• Education: Business Leadership School Admissions Event, where she helped research
and prepare admissions materials, and helped prospective entrepreneurs get started on
the admissions process and future enrollment.

• Convention/Tourism: The DBCC Annual Meeting & Awards Dinner, where she assisted
with paying tribute to honorees by distributing awards to them. She also acted as a
guide to the honorees and the gala attendees on the programs, events, and services
that the DBCC will offer in the upcoming fiscal year.

• Giving Back: Community Cleanups, where she helped clean up communities that are
majority Black and Brown. She picked up trash at several major parks that support
communities.

Ryann is a compassionate, giving individual which made her a great fit for the mission of the
Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce. Society has historically locked people of color out of
opportunity, specifically black people. It is difficult for people of color to gain the connections,
education and most importantly capital needed to succeed in today’s economic environment.

At The Dallas Chamber of Commerce, we place extreme emphasis on not only driving black
businesses, but also on feeding the spirit of our community. This is where Ryann excels. Anyone

can help with coordinating logistics – which is a vital role and Ryann does that with strong
organizational skills. But not everyone can speak with the public, emphasize the importance of
our purpose, galvanize people from all walks of life and empower them to renew their faith in
community and economic empowerment. If we could clone Ryann, we would, and the North
Texas area would be a better place.

At The Dallas Chamber of Commerce, we believe that we can impact social change efforts in the
North Texas region by redefining volunteering and philanthropy to engage all community assets
– and Ryann is an invaluable asset to our organization and the North Texas region. She truly
embodies the spirit of community service, and we are delighted that she continues to bless
those that we serve with her positive and can-do spirit.

Sincerely,

Harrison L. Blair
