Subject Description:
This subject is designed to provide students with methodologies of quantitative researches and to
expose them to the techniques of data analysis. Major topics include problem identification, sources of data,
instrumentation, sampling techniques, methods of collecting and processing data, hypothesis testing,
parametric and non-parametric statistics. The use of computer applications is essential in the statistical
analysis of data.

Instructions for Topic Assignment:


1. Each student will be assigned a specific topic, as outlined in the matrix below
2. The assigned topic will be presented in the online-class, using powerpoint slides. Oral presentation,
with a time limit of twenty-five (25) minutes, will be in accordance with the session-schedule.
3. A narrative report of the topic will be emailed to edilberto.lagunda@gmail.com on the last session of the
course. The report shall be structured as to the following lay-out:
a. Introduction – overview/meaning, relevance and importance of the topic;
b. Body – description and contents of the topic as well as its write-up structure;
c. Conclusion – summary, lessons learned and insights gained from the topic; and
d. References – sources of information.
