Contest Guidelines
Hello everyone!

Thank you for expressing interest in our contest! Below are the specific guidelines
for our contest. Please let us know of any questions you have about the contest through
our Instagram or Email!

We look forward to reading your submissions soon!

Contest Dates: 1/15/24 - 2/21/24

General Rules
1. You may submit to as many categories as you want, however only one
submission per category is allowed
2. If you are announced as a winner, you will be sent a consent form in order for us
to share your creation onto our social media platforms.

Any submissions that attempt to use ChatGPT or any other AI will be disqualified from the
contest.

Categories & Requirements:

WRITING
● Poetry - max of 70 lines
● Essay - max of 500 words
Submit: as a Google Doc link with link sharing on.

DESIGN (CAN BE DIGITAL)

● Poster
● Infographic
 ● Artwork
○ Accompany with a max 200 word artist’s statement detailing what it is
and how it reflects an aspect of Neural Tube Defects
Submit: as a PDF or PNG file upload

VIDEO (NO LONGER THAN 2 MINUTES)

● Film
● Animation
Submit: as a YouTube link with your name and grade as part of the title or
description

Prizes:
Writing (Top 3)
● Featured on our website
● Shared by CDC professionals
● Instagram post feature
● Featured in self-published Amazon Book

Design (Top 3)
● Poster/artwork hung up on libraries, communities, hospitals
● Featured in self-published Amazon Book
● Website feature
● Instagram Post feature

Video (Top 3):

● Website feature
● Instagram reels feature
● YouTube feature
● Instagram post feature

All Categories (1st Place): Monetary prizes

All winners: Volunteer hours
Rating Guidelines:
Students will be rated out of the originality of their creation, technique, and how it
successfully incorporates an aspect of Neural Tube Defects such as a basic
introduction to what it is, methods of prevention, and/or NTD disparity.

Moreover, entries will be graded on how true they are to the guidelines.
