Chapter – I

Introduction
1.1 INTRODUCTION

This Study is an attempt to know about the Training and Development of employees in SEMS Welfare Foundation
and also tries to conclude the Effectiveness of training given to the employees in SEMS Welfare foundation. This
project has been a great learning experience for me and at the same time gave me enough scope to implement my
classroom learning.

In the first part of project report, the general information of the company has been collected as well as the
strategies of the research are also mentioned. The second part of report contains the specialized subject study.
Specialized study mainly focused over the study of training and development of employees and will also conclude
the result of effective work environment of SEMS Welfare foundation.

In order to complete my project and understand employee’s preference toward SEMS Welfare Foundation,
questions were asked to the employees.

This activity was very good as everyone were very positive & cooperating in responding. The project gave me a
lot of practical exposure related to training and development. With this practical exposure I will be definitely
much more confident in my coming career.

1.2 OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY

The objective of my study is to understand the training procedures at SEMS Welfare Foundation.

1. To examine the effectiveness of training in overall development of skills of workforce.

2. To examine the impact of training on the workforce.

3. To study the changes in behavioural pattern due to training.

4. To measure the differential change in output due to training.

5. To compare the cost effectiveness in implanting training programmes.


1.3 SCOPE OF THE STUDY

1. To study the exact position of employees through their feedback

2. Development of employees through various training and development programs.

3. Developing altered of unbiased treatment to all employees.

4. To identify the general information of training and development and employee perception.

5. To identify the relationship between employee satisfaction and training and development.

1.4 LIMITATION OF THE STUDY

1. Due to the limitation of the time the research could not be made more detailed.

2. Due to confidentiality of some information accurate response was not revealed by some of the
respondents.

3. Respondents had answered the questions which may be socially incorrect irrespective of the actual
feelings.

4. The employees were busy with their daily schedule and it was very much difficult for them to give
time.

5. Some of the replies of the respondents may be biased.

2.1 COMPANY PROFILE

SEMS Welfare Foundation (SWF) is a Not-


for-Profit entity, established to work in the areas of Education, Social Welfare, Women
Empowerment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Livelihood Generation &
Employability, Health, Research, Culture, International Cooperation, Sports, Environment
Protection or any other similar sector. We promote healthy lives, balanced and active
communities, and strong businesses. It allows the Volunteer Members to concentrate their
Energies and Efforts on Long-Term Goals, when freed from day-to-day Details.

SEMS Welfare Foundation is a professional, Not for Profit Company registered under Section 8
of Companies Act, 2013 bearing Registration Number U80904DL2019NPL347912. SEMS
registered with NITI Aayog, MSME, MPCON, DDU GKY and Institute of Entrepreneurship
(IED) - Uttar Pradesh. SWF is recognized as a Start-up by the Department of Industrial Policy and
Promotion (DIPP), MCI. Also, recognition as Best Service Award for Significant National
Contribution from ITS Education Group.

SEMS Group has also organized more than 100 Education and Basic Health Care Camps for under privileged
children in slum areas of Uttar Pradesh. SEMS Group additionally promotes Digital and Financial Literacy and has
organized more than 100 camps in rural places and for senior citizens across India. SEMS was also involved in the
prestigious project of Ardh Kumbh 2019 at Prayagraj.
SEMS also started initiative of recognizing work of Educationist through Education Excellence Awards in
collaboration of PhD Chamber of Commerce. In 2021, SEMS got more than 700 applications from various parts of
the world. Award Jury has selected 52 Awardee out of all applications in various categories of Award. This award was
not having any registration or fees.

SEMS Welfare Foundation directors are – Ms. Neeti Bisht and Ms. Upma Bansal. Its authorized
share capital is INR 1.00 lac and the total paid-up capital is INR 1.00 lac. The current status of
Sems Welfare Foundation is – Active.

2.2 ORGANIZATIONAL FUNCTIONING

Sems Welfare Foundation is registered with NITI Aayog in their NGO Darpan portal and with
MSME. Sems Welfare Foundation is recognized as a startup by the Department of Industrial
Policy and Promotion (DIPP), MCI. It has an active network of 3000 Plus Academicians,
Engineers, Managers, Researchers, Industrialist, Consultants and Public Bodies.

Digi Saksham is another initiative of Sems Welfare Foundation and has developed content for
over 300 courses in multiple languages which range from 4 Hours to 6 Months in various sector
of IT, BFSI, Retail, Entrepreneurship for all age groups.

FemLeads is an initiative of Sems Welfare Foundation which narrates the tales of successful
female entrepreneurs. It has executed a skilling project for 600 inmates across 2 jails in state of
Haryana and also provided trainings in domains of Soft Skills, Excel, Digital Marketing,
Entrepreneurship, Livelihood Generations and Capacity Building to nearly 2000 Students. It has
conducted 10 International Conferences in emerging topics, published more than 50 books
bearing ISBN Number. Sems Welfare Foundation has its peer reviewed journal “International
Journal of Management and Technical Research (UMTR)” having ISSN 2347- 9035. It promotes
Digital and Financial Literacy and has organized more than 100 camps in rural places and for
seniors citizens, women, students. Sems welfare foundation is recognized as best services award
for significant National Contribution from ITS Educational Group.

1. HR. Department

The HR Department in Sems Welfare Foundation is the department which is responsible for managing the
employee life cycle (i.e., Recruiting, Hiring, Onboarding, Training, and Firing Employees) and administrating
employee benefits.

2. Marketing Department

The Marketing Department in SEMS Welfare Foundation is the department which is responsible for promotion of
all the content and events and also monitoring social media platforms.

3. Operation Department

The operation Department in Sems Welfare Foundation is the department which is responsible for collaborations,
organizing events and coordinating with other department as well.

4. Graphics Designing

The Graphic Department in Sems Welfare Foundation is the department which is responsible for designing poster
for events and for the other activities also. Also responsible for photo and video editing, video clipping, etc.

The Content Department in Sems Welfare Foundation is the department which is responsible for research, blogs,
social media posts, presentation reports, news articles, etc.

1. SEMS Welfare Foundation organized Education Excellence award 2021 to recognized educationist
for various Research and Academic activities under more than 50 categories like Life Time
Achievement Award, Best Vice-Chancellor Award, Best Young Vice-Chancellor Award, Best
Senior Administrator Award, Young Personality of the Year Award etc.

2. The researchers, academicians and other individuals nominated themselves for this award with a
few simple steps, that too without any registration fees.

3. We had more than 500 nominations from across world out of which jury selected 45 awardees in
various categories.

4. This Award is presented by SEMS Welfare Foundation in collaboration of PhD Chamber of


Commerce.

The Best Service Award for Significant National Contribution was awarded to the SEMS Welfare
Foundation in a series of ITS Utkrisht Marketing Awards organized by the Institute of Technology and
Science, Mohan Nagar Ghaziabad, U.P. The award was received by the Foundation’s executives Mr. Atul
Garg and Mrs. Neeti Bisht from Dr. RP Chadha, Chairman of ITS, Prof. S. K. Kank, Vice Chancellor of
Mahamaya Technical University and Mr. Pankaj Singh, Minister of State for BJP.

Research Methodology
Technology and customers preferences plays a vital role in todays generation research methodology is a sets
or various methods to be followed to find out various information regarding market strata or different
products. Research methodology is required to every industrial service for getting acquired knowledge for
their products.

Period of study - This study has been carried out for a maximum period of 8 weeks

my friends. All the information about the related project is based on the survey done by asking the question
to the consumer through direct marketing.

Objective Of The Study

To understand the importance and development of education industry in today’s scenario. To understand the
various marketing strategies which Sems Foundation adopted to survive in highly competitive industry. To
understand and analise the major competitors in education industry.

Sample Unit: The sampling unit of research included students and professionals residing in Jamshedpur
Uropean Academy.

Sample Size: The sample size of 100 was taken.

Data collection:

There have been two sources of information collected.

Primary Data: interview and survey

Secondary Data: Amount of data has been collected from internet and particularly the companies own
website.

Tools for data collection and interpretation:

After the data has been collected, it was tabulated and findings of the project were presented followed by
analysis and interpretation to reach certain conclusion.

Analysis- the above graph shows that under the age group of 18 to 25 55% most of the respondent aware about the
personality development courses but Interpretation shows that the age group of 26-35 only 30% and 36-45 only 15%
aware about the personality development courses.

Findings & Suggestions, Conclusion


FINDING AND SUGGESTION

Sems Foundation should target the age of 18-25 group of students & working professionals as it is very
popular in college and universities. Very less people are aware about platform of Sems Foundation need to
do more work on their website & social media marketing. Very less people are knows advertisement of the
Sems Foundation need to do more sales & marketing should increase their human strength. Few of the
customers cannot find what they want so Sems Foundation should focus on these problems for better
satisfaction of customers and to expand their products. Sems Foundation should focus on more about
pricing strategy because pricing plays a vital role in today’s competitive world. Sems Foundation should
focus on more live classes, practical theories Sems Foundation should focus on more about feedback of the
customers.

Suggestions

Sems Foundation need to expand their employee, strength only 200 – 500 people are working with this
organization Some products price should be low in Sems Foundation and their interns need practical
training, and sales & marketing techniques it’s a large sector to make a huge profits.
CONCLUSION

An assessment towards the end of the project customer’s awareness on personality development and its
application in the industry using direct marketing interactions with customers through Sems Foundation .
And prior to final drafting of the project report rely on various conclusions or sets of conclusions,
Personality development refers to improvising self identity, develop talents and to built potential within
selves. Through developing individual personality it helps an individual to enhance the quality of life and
this is helpful in contributing one’s aspirations. This report will go to reflect my own personality traits. This
report will go to measure my strengths and weakness and provide solutions to overcome my weakness. This
report will prepare an action plan where it provides ways to develop my weaknesses such as fear of public
speaking time management and sharing responsibility.

to the consumer. The report revels that there is a huge scope for Sems Foundation in education sector with
the changing life style, modernization and westernization personality development for students & working
professionals there exist a huge scope for the growth of Sems Foundation . Direct marketing is the key to
increase the market share in the area, since the education sector has a lot of potential both in term of

This proves that the EdTech revolution is not a temporary adjustment but a permanent solution. During the
recent lockdown, he has also launched a very unique model of transforming people's life through his
speeches along with other industry leaders popularly known as Sems Foundation .in, which is gaining a lot
of traction amongst college students as well as young working professionals. Amit plans to take Sems
