Under the Department of Education, Sta. Cruz Learning Center used the modular learning as
its educational approach to continue giving quality education to the students despite the pandemic.
The teachers were given a chance to create and make their own self-learning materials and will
distribute it to the students per quarter. This means that the students will receive SLMs for the whole
year.
Modules are composed of notes that guide the students in answering the activities and
assessments.
During the distribution of the self-learning materials or the modules once a week, the SLMs are
distributed to the parents/guardian of the students. It allows the neighbor or the relatives to get the
self-learning materials when the parents/guardian of the students are not available.
During the retrieval, self-learning materials that are done will be collected and retrieved by the
teachers in the school.
Through summative exercises, performance task and quarterly exams will assessed the
student’s learning progress.
However, this set-up is very risky to the health of both parents/guardians and teachers. That is
why the school also ensures the safety of everybody that they have to follow the health safety
protocols. Maintaining the social distancing and making sure that all people wearing their facemask
and face shield during the distribution and retrieval of the learning materials.
