Interview Questions

What will be your contribution in the office u applying for position?

• Being in the service for years, one of my greatest resource would be my experience working with people of different
expertise and exposing myself into managing tasks related to creating quality and efficient government programs.
Furthermore, my collaborative skills can enhance a better communication within the team, resulting to a better
service and output. Additionally, I'm keen on adaptability and flexibility, enabling me to work at different assigned
tasks at a time, and with good decision-making skills on responsibilities that need urgent action, I will be able to be
a productive individual.
2. What is your strength?

• As a versed public servant, one of my considered strength, and is also my motivation to achieve quality ministrations
is by being committed to the public service and creating positive change for the Filipino people. Moreover, being
in the service for years built me adequate knowledge and experience related to management and team-roles.
Furthermore, my background enabled me to train in effective communication, as it was crucial in my tasks, and be
collaborated, connected and engaged with my colleagues. Aside from these, working in a dynamic environment
upskilled myself to be adaptable, especially that government policies, regulations and priorities change. In these
situations, I believe that being adaptive and flexible is a valuable strength. Along with these, government projects
and initiatives require interconnectedness, and I believe that in my years of service within the organization, I have
enough exposure working with people that share common goals, and being able to facilitate efficient collaboration.
Lastly, working for a long time strictly developed my professionalism and ethical conduct, for I believe that integrity
is the most important strength I have, as working in the government is a privilege and was entrusted by the public
to uphold honesty and public service.
3.Situation: if there is a urgent need to submit report but the person in charge is on leave. What will you do? Will
you going to take the responsibility or not?

• The first thing I would do is to assess the urgency and importance of the report. If the report is time-sensitive and
is critical to the decision-making tasks of the organization, I would take full responsibility and submit the report on
the date specified. However, if the report requires prompt input and authorization from an authority, I would
communicate and seek guidance from the concerned stakeholders and if possible, seek assistance from the second
in-charge.
4. What best practices can you share?

• The best practices that I can share, which enhanced by effectiveness, professionalism and contribution to the
organization as a public servant is to first, fully understand my roles and responsibilities at the organization.
Familiarizing yourself in your job structure enabled me to know how my role works, what are my boundaries and
responsibilities are, and contribute effectively to the shared goals of the department. Secondly, maintaining
professionalism and practicing ethical conduct is a must in an organization, as this enables the team to uphold the
highest degree of honesty and being ethically-considerate in all interactions and tasks requiring decision-making.
Furthermore, it avoids miscommunication and conflicts of interest in the public service. Third, the best practice to
be keep abreast of policy and regulation changes is by being active, informed and updated. Clearly, by being
informed, continuous development and attainment of common goals in the organization can be achieved if everyone
is working at the same pace, under the same regulations and policies, at the same time. Forth, by communicating
effectively, development of positive work-relationship with colleagues, stakeholders and partners within and
outside of the organization are attainable, as this is a crucial step in clearly conveying everyone’s input, information
and ideas, as well as understanding everyone’s perspective on pivotal decisions and tasks that are towards the benefit
of the organization and its associates. Fifth, managing time and setting priorities is a must-practice conduct as
effectively managing these enables each and one of the team to meet the task’s deadlines and expected outcome.
Utilizing tools and techniques that create time-managing systems or prioritization frameworks optimize everyone’s
productivity, which further affects the expected organizational needs and must-do.
Aside from these, practicing being open to feedbacks, and constructive criticisms help identify the ‘areas
for improvement’ and be active in seeking opportunities for the department’s learning and development. Lastly,
working as a public servant for years made me practice focusing on results and impact of the work in its
stakeholders, especially the Filipino people. Striving for achievable, tangible and positive results impact the lives
of the citizens and communities we are sworn to serve and improve delivery of service with.
5. Why do you want to get promoted?

• I believe that having the mindset stepping out of your comfort zone, and continuously develop means learning new
things, being around with new people and gaining new experiences introduce myself to strengthen my self-integrity
and achieving greater confidence in discovering my unknown skills and capabilities. Furthermore, advancing to
higher levels within the organization open up new window of opportunities that can further enhance my career and
progression as an individual. Moreover, I believe that being in the organization for a long-time equipped me with
the skills, resources and knowledge that are significant in value, and made brought significant impact to achieve my
department’s shared goals and outcomes. Moreover, aside from the increased compensation and recognition, having
the opportunity to create a greater impact in the organization is a privilege and my upmost priority in seeking
professional growth is to be able to drive the team towards an adequate and quality public service.
6. What do you enjoy about your current job?

• By being in the government for years, I find fulfillment in having derive satisfaction to helping address the needs
and concerns of our communities and stakeholders. Furthermore, I find satisfaction that the tasks and work I was
able to accomplish contributes to the well-being of the society and aids in improving the lives of the Filipino people.
Furthermore, my job opened several opportunities for me to develop and enhance my skills, knowledge and
expertise on diverse tasks and responsibilities. Also, these opportunities help discovering new skills and experience.
Aside from these, the satisfaction for innovation and discovering my creativity, particularly in the areas my
department was concerned, empowered my career development. Additionally, being around with people of diverse
backgrounds fostered my communication skills, enabling me to be adaptive and flexible, and to practice
collaborative work culture. I enjoyed working, developing positive relationship and sharing my experience and skill
sets with my colleagues, stakeholders and policymakers that are united to achieve shared common goals. To add,
working in the public service for years prospered my sense of camaraderie and shared purpose with the people, I
know that are committed for the public good.
7. Why are you the best candidate for this promotion?

• I dedicate myself to continuous learning and development and seeking this promotion to uncover opportunities that
can further enhance my skills, knowledge and expertise that are relevant to attaining the organization’s missions
and goals. Furthermore, I’m passionate about the service we do and is ready to take greater responsibilities that
contribute to our collective goal, to bring adequate and quality service to our stakeholders, especially the Filipino
people. Additionally, I’m eager to contribute to the growth and success of the mission and vision of the organization,
and is devoted to align my goals and plans with the long-term objectives of the department and to bring out positive
change. Moreover, throughout my tenure within the organization, I’ve consistently developed my work ethics and
professionalism, skills and expertise that contribute meaningfully to the team and input ideas that contribute in
achieving quality results. In addition, working in a dynamic environment trained me to be adaptable and be proactive
in suggesting innovative solutions to challenges the team meet. Also, practicing effective communication is crucial
