Training Objectives
 Saudi ARAMCO has a specific set of rules that apply within its facilities,
and conducts frequent checks on compliance.
 It is important Schlumberger drivers understand these rules and comply
with them at all times.
 Violation of ARAMCO driving rules will have a negative impact on
Schlumberger reputation and business with ARAMCO
 Violation of ARAMCO driving rules will result in disciplinary action being
taken against the offending driver.
Road Monitoring
“All roads inside/outside ARAMCO facilities are monitored by
Cameras and violators will be filmed and prosecuted by
ARAMCO security”

Visits – ARAMCO Facilities
 Whilst driving inside a ARAMCO facility, drivers must adhere to the

applicable ARAMCO policies, standards and procedures.
 Schlumberger Drivers should always use the Contractor gate to enter
ARAMCO
 Drivers must have a valid ARAMCO ID and the vehicle must have a
valid ARAMCO vehicle sticker
 One-time visitors to ARAMCO without ARAMCO ID must request a
temporary ARAMCO gate pass through their Schlumberger host
Speed Limit Rules
 Speed limits inside ARAMCO facilities vary largely, from facility
to facility, and from place to place
 Applicable speed limits are always clearly posted
 Always stay well within the posted speed limits to avoid any
violation
 ARAMCO facilities have now all been Geofenced: speed limits
have been programmed into VDOs.
 ARAMCO have started to put in place E-boards in certain
locations showing the driver his actual speed, use this to your
advantage
Intersection Rules
 Slow down when approaching a traffic light, be prepared for the light to change
color at any time and you having to STOP.
 When light changes to green, proceed with CAUTION
 A STOP sign means you have to come to a complete STOP
 Making a Right turn through a red light is NOT allowed in ARAMCO
 Always be courteous in traffic!!

Parking Procedures
 ARAMCO managers, employees, and invalid drivers may have dedicated parking
spaces
 These parking spaces are indicated with sign boards
 Do NOT park here, but instead use the general (contractor) parking slots provided
 General (contractor) parking slots are not indicated by any signs.

Other places where you should NOT park:

 On a designated Emergency route or in an Emergency Vehicle space
 In posted “No parking Zones”
 In posted “Reserved Areas”
Public Road Driving - Saher
 Saher is the Saudi government traffic monitoring system to reduce
traffic accidents on public roads.
 Saher passes on to ARAMCO violation details for vehicles that have an
ARAMCO sticker or driver has Aramco ID.
 Not stopping before pedestrian crossing in front of red light conceder
as violation.
 Turning Right without halting completely before pedestrian crossing is
violation.

Visits – ARAMCO Well Sites
 Whilst driving within ARAMCO well site perimeter, drivers must adhere to the
posted procedures
 Drivers must STOP at the security gate for registration
 Drivers must produce ID card and H2S certificate
 Drivers wanting to enter a PPE zone should follow the PPE rules and wear the
relevant PPE
 Always stick to the posted speed limits on the site
 Drivers who cannot comply with any of the rules have to wait at the gate and
contact the SLB supervisor on site for help.
Mobile use prohibition
All Drivers are prohibited from using mobile phones, including

hands-free mobile installations, while driving Company vehicles
as well as private and contractor vehicles in Saudi Aramco
communities, facilities or premises

Violation Code No. 36 “parking in reverse” is considered a violation only if vehicle is cited in an angled parking (Non-90 degree) parking space
including company parking lots, roads, streets and driveways attached to residential parking areas where in this case violator will be issued a
ticket under the name “parking in reverse” if the vehicle is cited parked against the traffic flow in a residential area where a parking zone is clearly
marked. Reverse parking in angled or diagonal parking is also against SLB DriveSMARRT practices since it is considered against the norm.

Accountability
 Drivers are accountable for their actions.
 Supervisors are accountable for the actions of their drivers.
 Traffic violation received through ARAMCO will automatically result in a warning letter and
losing 6 points for the driver.
 Offending driver will be having an interview with OFS Geo-Market manager along with his direct
manager.
 Contractor drivers will be terminated after a violation.
 Vehicle sticker and driver ARAMCO ID may be revoked.
