What is IKTVA?
IKTVA stands for “In Kingdom Total Value Add” programme. The programme is designed to drive domestic
value creation and maximize long-term economic growth and diversification to support a rapidly changing

ADC Expansion Project Completion
On Sunday December 2nd, 2018 the newly acquired rig (AD59)
spud its first well marking the successful completion of a fantastic
journey during in which ADC extended its fleet by more than 60%
(16 rigs) and established as a leading drilling contractor in the
Kingdom. ADC would like to take this opportunity to congratulate

As a part of ADC’s commitment to train and develop Saudi Workforce, ADC continues to play a major role in “Saudi Arabia Drilling
Academy” by sponsoring more than 100 trainees and some of them have graduated on 17th of September 2018.

SPSP 2018 Graduation
SPSP has been established to meet the needs of the Petroleum Services Industry and to support the Saudization of the Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia. Arabian Drilling Company (ADC) sponsors trainees enrolled in the “Saudi Petroleum Services Polytechnic” to be trained in different
key disciplines whereby its graduates join ADC to occupy certain technical professions.
ADC is thrilled to announce the graduation of the “Saudi Petroleum Services Polytechnic” class of 2018 on the 22nd of November 2018
To support this program, the 1st session of the 3-day pure interactive workshop on Soft Skills for Office Employees –
Wiser 1 was held last 13-15th of August 2018 in Holiday Inn Hotel, Al-Khobar.
It was presented by Dr. Abdullah Saa’d Al-Dahlawi from Masters Consultant and attended by 20 of our office employees
nominated from various departments in ADC.
Wiser-1 Training aims to impart to the candidates, innovative and practical knowledge and techniques on Soft Skill
areas such as Taking Initiative, Time Management, Listening & Speaking and Ethics & Values.

Human Resource Department Highlights
The main achievements of the HR Department in 2018 are:
• more than 1,800 new employees were recruited, onboarded and placed on the different rigs/departments
• 535 new expat employees were brought in the Kingdom in a record time with time to process Iqama reduced from
10 days to 3/4 working days
• more than 1,000 work visa secured and conversion of work visit visa started
• pre-employment Medical check-up reduced to from 10 days to 3 working days
• All training activities were increased by 360% to face the needs of the expansion project
• Noor project Phase I completed on-time, new simulators received and 28% of the rig population assessed
• training programs fully revamped and development/succession plan put in place
• excellent improvement in payroll processing despite the big increase in the number of employees, less than 10%
of employees missing attendance
• Employment verification letters automatically generated speeding up the process and reducing the number of
errors
• all employee documents (promotions, disciplinary, personal etc.) attached to the employee record
• SuccessFactors deployment to all employees in ADC allowing streamlined access to all employee information
(payslips, performance appraisals)
• automatic alert mechanism implemented to inform employees when their passport, Iqama, medical check are due
to expire
• merit increase smoothly performed in May 2018 with all office increases done through SuccessFactors
• Soft Skills for support staff (Wiser I and II) training launched with more than 100 employees trained
• ISO certification for the Dhahran Training Centre completed with an objective to get ISO certified in H1 2019
• new HR policies finalized, approved and distributed
• 120 new graduates from SPSP/SADA, 51 graduates from training programs and 207 new injected in training pro-
grams in 2018

Onboarding is now live
This project is a collaboration between HR and SAP team with BluePrint support team to achieve a visualization where
every employee has career visibility during his\her journey with ADC.
One of SuccessFactors services is Onboarding process for the new hires. This service started on 10 July 2018 for both
ends: Candidate and Recruiter. The candidate is now able to fill his or her own data through the system and receive
instructions to pursue. On the other hand, the recruiter selects the required onboarding furnish and submit requests
through the system to the concerned parties.

Workshops

Rig Management Seminar
ADC Rig Management Seminar, in which targeted newly appointed rig manager and supervisors, was
held from 28-29th June 2018 & 15th-17th of January 2019, in Holiday Inn hotel. ADC’s Operational
Manager, Abdulla Fahed Al-Ahmed presented an opening speech on behalf of ADC’s Managing
Director – Technical to brief the class on ADC’s history and 2018 expansion. Each department
head introduced themselves to rigs senior management and conveyed a brief presentation
about their department, questionnaire, and guidance on department support, difficulties and
challenges identification. The participant departments were HSE, Information Technology,
Compliance, Financial, Internal Audit, Operations, Maintenance Management System, Supply
Chain Management, Contracts, Human Resource, and Training and Development department.

ADC Workshop:
On 25th Sept. 2018, ADC hosted a workshop entitled “Mechanical Lifting – Crane and Forklift Operations”. The workshop took
place in Park Inn Hotel and it was led by division 2 team along with the QHSE department support.
The workshop was intended to raise awareness of hazards associated with drilling operation.
The workshop was attended from Aramco, ADC Management and other Drilling Contractors.

National Day Celebration
ADC celebrated 88th Saudi National Day on the 25th of September 2018 for the year of remarkable changes.
Saudi Arabia celebrates its national day, it marks the unification of the Kingdom and its establishment by
His Majesty King Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud. The choice of this day came on the 17th of Jumada I
1351 AH. A royal decree was issued to unify all parts of the modern Saudi state under the name of the King-
dom of Saudi Arabia. On Thursday, 21 Jumada I of the same year, 23 September 1932, King Abdul Aziz chose
to announce the establishment of our dear country.

The Arabian Drilling Company (ADC) has long been committed to superiority
in innovation and performance within the oil and gas drilling services indus-
try, with a practice centered on people and corporate liability. In recent years,
ADC has engaged in various local sustainability programs and awards to bet-
ter interpret and benchmark its applicability with the help of sustainability
experts. ADC’s commitment is illustrated by its year-over-year growth in evalu-
ations, such as the 2030 Vision Check and IKTVA, as well as other recognitions
for extraordinary performance in the supply chain, training and education,
and QHSE. ADC now shifts into a new era of sustainability management and
communication, with its 2018 Sustainability Report, which will bring identifi-
cation, clarity, and influence to ADC’s strong appearance in sustainability-re-
lated fields. ADC is forming its second annual sustainability report with the
cooperation of AccountAbility, a global consulting and standards firm that
works with business, governments and multi-lateral organizations to promote
efficient business disciplines and enhance ADC long-term performance.
